  • ver peliculas con los abuelos... siempre es genial.... :)

  • super clip- well done and much thmnx!

  • What a pretty dress and fantastic shoes! Very modern

  • Harry James had talent thats for sure. Helen Forrest was an amazing singer!! It's hard to believe that Hollywood didnt press her for leads. I think of how music has changed from then to now. And, dancing for that matter. This is real music and dancing!! Could maybe half of the generation dance like that?

  • @aBritaBroad

If you are referring to that generation, yes. that was the way everyone danced to those bands and that music. That was my growing up music. At the tender age of 12, I had Helen Forrest's picture all over my bedroom. I was not happy when she left Harry James. I mentioned it when I met him years later at the Hollywood Palladium.

  • Funny that you noticed that! She was one of the five greatest female singers of the 40's but was considered not "hollywood pretty" enough for leads,, unlike many of her contempories. She was dating Harry James at the time though, but was kttc (kicked to the curb) to make way for his to be- lifelong love Betty Grable. Something else funny, if they hadn't cut when they did, Helen would have run right into the guy with the violin!

  • A great talent and voice but this scene disturbs me....

Why was the camera so far away from her? Even when she got slightly close they had most of her face in shadow - was she that non-photogenic?

  • o m gosh....with love potion music like this, it's no wonder there was a baby boom! They sure knew sweet music and romance~what a generation

  • @tomnnan "Love potion music," lol. What an apt description!

  • To all you pro wrestling fans: This was the #1 song in the USA when Antonio Inoki came into the world (February 20, 1943).

  • seriously this is magic!

  • What a beautiful song. It's one of those tunes that gets stuck in your head! LOL Thanks for posting!

  • Thats Rafael Mendez on trumpet at the intro, I beieve. Am I correct?

  • @ClearBlackWater No Sir, that's Wynton Marsalis.

  • I used to have the old 78 of this song and the flip side was even better, "He's 1A in the Army and A1 in my Heart". This song is Helen's trademark tho.

  • Such a beautiful voice, from one of the greatest of the Big Band era.
