Eventhough Frank Welker returned to do Soundwave's voice in the new movie Revenge of The Fallen, but he had Dr. Claw's voice, I wonder why they did not use the Vocoder.

Normally, when Megatron is brought back to life or altered in some way, he almost always uses the name Galvatron from that point forward (Energon was weird in that he was Galvatron, then was reborn and called himself Megatron... then went back to Galvatron later).

Since Megatron was brought back to life in the second movie, he SHOULD have been called Galvatron. But they didn't use it, because they're morons. Which is the same reason why they didn't alter Frank's voice for Soundwave.

What's weird is that this kind of trickery was enough to fool the Autobots. Weren't they on a planet where just about every robot could transform to look like something else? They should be able to look at Soundwave and say "Hey, Soundwave! We know you're not a street fixture. Stop spying on us."

I've always thought that Soundwave was a kind of Cybertronian Toll Gate. Because he dispenses Energon cubes from his chest. So when Cybertron had power, perhaps certain transformers would have to pay him Energon to pass. Offically though, he is supposed to be a "Communications tower" because he is a communications expert. It makes sense for him to be outside Iacon, the Autobot's base, spying...but why they wouldn't notice a tower that appears and reappears from time to time, I don't know, lol.
