Sony MDR-V150 Headphones unboxing

These are great headphones for music and audio. PROS:Very comfortable, good bass and nice adjustments. Long dual Y-cord.

CONS: Long, dual y-cord tends to twist around near the y portion by the neck - could be slightly annoying especially it keeps hitting you in the chin. Also the cord (mine is 3ft I think) seems to want to trip me sometimes.

Don't step on them and take care of them and they'll last. if a side comes out of the frame, pop it back it.

I just bought them today. Not that bad. VERY stylish, and the sound is ok. Of course.. for around $20 its not going to be bose perfect, but its really not that bad. It can hit some low bass, and very good for rock (BFMV, Atreyu, Craving Lucy, Disturbed, etc.) and hip hop is really good too. For its price and such, 8/10.

One more thing, they are ON-EAR Headphones so they stay pretty tight on the ears so they don't let sound in or out which after some time does cause my ears discomfort. But I think after stretching them out a bit it won't be as bad.

Anyone looking to buy these read on. I just got these around ten hours ago and I've been using them for about two hours. Sound wise the bass is pretty good (I've never owned a really high dollar pair of headphones though) I've been listening to Kid Cudi, Skrillex and The Word Alive which are all different types of music I feel these sound much better than Ipod ear buds the sound rage is larger and you get more bass.

The treble on these are not that great. Vocals are not as clear. Price is great if you are looking for extra headphones. I'm still trying to find a decent high quality headphone. 3/5 stars for me

I was hoping they had the coil cord, Sony's mostly did last time I bought a pair. The strap design is at least good here.

Looks wise, yes they do. However not sound wise, I've heard the Lowriders and these and these have better ranges of bass and clarity, also a stronger build quality.

The reason the sound is probably low is their is a defect with them. It could also be the fact that you paid such a low price for these things. You get what you pay for some times. Atleast when you buy a Sony product you know it is going to last for years. That is the experience I have had with Sony's TV's for the past 15 yrs anyways.

Get a headphone amp if you are going to use an Ipod or portable CD player, the amps built in those devices are underpowered and will make the headphones distort and sound bad.

Instead of amping such headphones, do yourself a favour and safe the money for better ones.

Getting better headphones will give you more of a gain in sound quality than amping 17$ headphones !

Despite the fact that those are 24 Ohms, 98 dB/mW, almost everything should be able to drive them reasonably well.

I'm using 32 Ohms headphones with my mp3 player and feel no need at all to amp them.
