I luv this one! The music has such a cool, refreshing sound that is very uplifting. And the bluish hues make the visuals equally refreshing to look at. This theme and visuals are contemporary without being over the top, or weird. This feels more like the classic soaps from the 80s. This feel very soap opera-ish.

@docgirl2009 That is Stephanie Gatchet (Tammy) right before Beth Ehlers (Harley). Gatchet is now on AMC where Ehlers was just fired. Small world.

God I miss Guiding Light. I can't believe its been gone for a month already.

We still have these old episodes in the UK, and this is the current theme. So at least I can still see it in a way. Its Feb 2006 for us, but its is on at 2am, so how long we will have it for I don't know.

Where I live Guiding Light comes on at 2:00. If it came on earlier it might would of had more viewers.

The Guiding light was really the besty show on TV

Y&R cheat cuz they have the BEST time Slot!!!! Thats y the ratings never come down, if GL had the time Y&R has they wuld be number 1 also

The good old days I think a major reason why guilding light has failed is because of the time slot think about it if guilding light came on at 12:30, at 3:00 people are busy.

I think the grimacing guy that you are referring to is Gus Aitoro (acted by Ricky Paull Goldin). He isn't on the show anymore. He is on All My Children.

The dancing guy is Buzz Cooper (acted by Justin Deas)

The detective is Frank Cooper (acted by Frank Dicopoulos)

Please,If Guiding Light does not come on in Sacramento on KOVR then how will a Sacramentan see it. Hmmm. There's KHSL channel 12 in Chico it covers north of Sacramento. KPIX channel 5 in SF it covers south of Sacramento.

Great music but why are non of the veterans in these? I am so sick of Gl giving credits to the unknown actors when actors like Maureen Garrett, etc. are still on the show!

Well to be fair, Maureen Garrett hasn't been on the show since 2005. She made one appearance in 2006 (Ross's funeral in April) and has yet to be seen in 2007. From what I heard, she moved away from NYC and has basically retired from acting.

The best theme is the Theme used from 1975-1981 and the Disco Theme from 1981-1983.

I am glad to see that I am not the only one who hates the hands...I actually liked this intro....however I think the best was the like 1983-1989..I watched the show loyally from the summer of 85 to early 86...back then it came on at 3 and so I was able to watch it because I was in school.

Wish they'd bring this opening back already, and get rid of the current 70th anniversary opening. GL slightly modify the openings with newly updated headshots, and the performer's names be included. Just my opinion.

This opening is very reminiscent in style to OLTL's Tour of Llanview II, minus city exterior shots. I think this one may be returning soon, since the "hands/Find Your Light" visuals are just for GL's 70th anniversary and to promote the stars helping with Hurricane Katrina charities.
