  • Yeah, can someone please post the notes for the right hand please? I'm finding it hard to follow. Many thanks in advance :-)

  • what about axel f? my son is obsessed with that song now and i cant seem to find it on here?

  • what about axel f? my son is obsessed with that song now and i cant seem to find it on here?

  • If you watch herbie play it, he plays it differently. for one he plays what you are playing with his right hand. He starts out with a low F, then plays Bb D F (higher) then C and finishes with B nat Eb.

  • thx for posting

  • very nice man!!! Now i'm gonna play it better! ^^

    thnks 4 helping!!

  • Pudersepp fail. this is watermelon man.

  • You know it is not the "Watermelon man" but the "Cataloupe island" you are playing? You probably do, I didn't skim trough the comments.

  • @Pudersepp No, it isn't. Cantaloupe island goes to Dm7 - it isn't an elongated twelve bar blues.

This is most definitely Watermelon Man.

  • @jazzpianist111

    My bad then!

  • @Pudersepp yeah you're a fuckin idiot. this is the riff in the original watermelon man

  • @Pudersepp

You know it is not the "cantaloupe island" but the "watermelon man" he is playing

    You probably didn't know that

  • um not quiet

  • I want to ask, how did you figure these chords out?

  • Thank you very much! I found it great. It's not the original, this is arranged to be easier, but this lets me do my own thing to it. thanks.

  • you got to swing that. not jazzy enough....

  • no fool... its rock, not swing.

  • @toweryman .... you dont swing this song -_-

  • horrible...lol

  • I have the original score from Herbie Hancock and this is not at all how it is written. Order the original arrangement on sheet music if you have any doubts.

  • Could you show me where to get it?

  • amazing the amount of people not knowing about google/sheet music/name of song....not just here but i see this all the time or 'uh, could you send me the music'

and not the same as the original but not bad....listening to the herbie hancock version also makes the differences apparent; i wonder though how jazzpianist

did get it not quite right? still not bad and decent lesson.

  • so if you go on google and type

Search: shhet music/ cantalopue island i could get the music?

  • Thanx i learned the song form ur video

  • that part is in every fake book, problem with fake books is they only give the melody, this guy is giving the LH, which is the part the fakebooks never show you thnx to uploader!

  • i know i hate fake books

  • could you please write the right hand in the description or in a PM

  • the ones from 2:16 - 2:28

  • Of all the things you did in this vid, putting the note text on the screen was by far the most helpful. I cannot read music, but I know key positions.

    Bravo, and thank you.

  • Thanks! I've been trying to figure that out for a while! So far I've just sorta skimmed over the F blues scale, but its starting to sound boring and repetitive, what little riffs do you use/suggest for the different chord changes, just so i can get off the blues scale... Thanks man!

  • I will try to post another vid for you when I get a little time! lol

  • Can you also tab out the right hand part for the melody? It is kind of hard to tell what you ar doing there. Any suggestions on how to improvise would also be nice.

  • dude u r awsome help

  • Leave comments with relevant questions and tell me what you think. If you need some help with improvisation you could also leave amessage!
