  • hay thank you for this dope tutorial. please what are the songs ?

  • Hello...thanks for the vid. Been wanting to learn how to do this for a while. I have a question. I have a MOTU mk3 Ultralite Hybrid. There are stereo 1/4" main outs. There are also 8 female 1/4" outputs on the back of the unit. I am not quite sure where to plug everything in and how to assign the channels in the MOTU audio setup window. Could you explain where I should be plugging in the headphone jack and monitor outputs? Also how I assign them in the interface's setup. thanks

  • do I really need 4 ouputs or I can use Traktor Audio 2 too? Like 1. ouput is for stereo (master) and 2. is for headphones (cue) ...Not like left stereo for 1 ouput and right streo for 2. ouput and so on...

  • god bless you ) (allah senden razı olsun in turkish )

  • thanks man)

  • thanks much appreciated!

  • Is it possible to use your laptop's built in headphone output for cueing while using another interface for the master output?

  • @2012djay If you have a mac you can create an aggregate device, which basically combines two soundcards into one super device. In this case you would combine the internal soundcard with whatever external interface you have, thus allowing you to use both. Go to support . apple . com /kb/HT1215 for directions on how to do it.

  • simple and to the point, Thanks a lot Charliee big up! :)

  • THanks..Had a month trying to figure this out...

  • thanks!!!

  • thanks bro for the help

  • you actually don't need to use a soundcard but it's recommended for reliable performance. split the sends on mono left/right as if you were djing off your laptop. then send left to chan 1 and right to chan 2 using rca splitters/combiners. use one chan as main output and the other as cue. if this doesn't make sense you haven't been doing this long enough - you'll get it

  • Hi

  • Hello, i am using a macbook, and a creative xfi external sound card, and i did just what the video explained, and there is no sound on mi headphones, and theres no sound showed on de cue bars, but my card work fine on virtual dj, any idea? Thanks!!

  • Hi is it possible for post channel fader cueing, i.e. cueing with the channel fader levels?

  • Hi I have everything set up but I want to cue my mix post fader... i.e. my channel faders are set up mixed (for example one drum part is lower than the other drum part) and I want to cue how it would sound with new parts.

Am I able to do that?

  • hey bro, you really helped me out with this video yesterday so said i'd say thanks

had been searching for a month for a tut to show me how to do this and then i find your vid and you used my same interface, couldnt believe my eyes

keep up the good work :)

  • Cool but, im still stuck. Im useing a Apc40 and i have a x-Fi sound card that supports asio, as well as a onboard sound card... Im unable to get my cue'd track to come thur on my headphones so i can mash em together, anyone have idea where to go for info.

  • You saved my life man ! THANK YOU ! ! ! :D :D :D

  • Thank you, yes I found it yesterday ;-)

    Thx very much.

Can i ask you some other questions? CPU & Latency, configiruation?

    Thx, Fab

  • Hello, I've a question, is it possible to hear the 2 channels at a time in the headphone and if yes how?

    Best regards,

    Fab

  • @DjFabbx It is possible to hear two channel at the same time. Just CMD-click (probably ctrl or alt-click on the PC) the cues on the channels you'd like to hear! Should work :)

  • nice 1 mate, nice vid the problem im having is getting ableton to see my other 2 channels ie (it shows channels 1/2 but not 3/4) im using apc40 and saffire 6 usb 2/ins 4/outs, is it a connection issue

  • Short and to the point. awesome!

  • Hey, I figured it out. I just have to mute my fader for the track that I'm cuing before I trigger it. It will play through my headphones now this way and then when I slide up the fader, it plays through master. Sucks I have to do it this way, but it's the best I can figure out.

  • Well, thats the way to do it. Its how a cue works on a DJ mixer so..

You can hold the CMD-key and cue more tracks at a time aswell. You change the volume of the cue (prelisten) with the cue-volume in the master channel.

  • Oh, cool I didn't know that. Thanks. I was wondering if I could cue more than 1 at a time. I'll keep checking back for your tutorials. Thanks for all the help!

  • Cool :) will just have to figure out what to show!

  • Maybe I should be more specific. When, I try to cue a track, I click the headphone button, then trigger the clip. It plays through my left headphone speaker but also plays through my studio speakers at the same time.

  • Great video, but when I try to click on solo, the button is deactivated and won't let me click it. Any ideas? I'm using an audio 2 dj soundcard with live 8

  • Not sure of what you mean exactly. But try click the Cue/Solo button in the Master channel a couple of times. (after setting "Cue Out" to the channel that you want your Cue to come out from).

Then the Solo-buttons on the tracks will change to Headphones...

Get back to me if this don't work.. try to explain what steps you've done.

    Charlie

  • Hey Charlie, that worked for the solo button problem, but now I"m running into another problem.

I've got the cue out set to 3/4 and master out at 1/2. When I want to cue a clip, it also plays through my speakers (which isn't desired because I'm trying to prelisten). Any ideas why it might do this? I really appreciate your help.
