  • I'm guessing that by May 1994 when this ad was broadcast the 1995 Stallone movie must have been in production or at least well into pre-production planning. There was actually a new comic released to coincide with the film. "Judge Dredd Lawman of the Future" in which Dredd was drawn in the movie style uniform. It started in July 1995 and ran fortnightly until issue 23, May 1996, plus a single special issue in Nov 1996. One day I'll make a vid of these covers....

  • Wow...never seen this. But if I'm correct this was around the time that Dredd the movie was in production & old Joe's features were rapidly changing (to resemble Stallone) before the movie was finished. Cheers again Aero, you truly are a real fan.

  • Flipping heck, I remember picking up that copy when I was thirteen. 75p I think it cost?

  • @motherflange That's nothing, back in 1977 when I was 10, 2000 AD cost the princely sum of 7 pence, lol........

  • @GNeuman 8p actually, but near enough. 7p was the 1976 price of the similar comic, predecessor to 2000AD, 'Action' famously tagged the seven penny nightmare in the media backlash against its violent content. (Covers video of Action is on my channel too) my first Prog was 128 in September 1979 and was 12p - (nostalgic sigh)

  • @AeroVidTube Ooops, you're right, thanks for the correction..Blimey, I remember my mates at school going on about "Action"and how violent it was, but Hookjaw never "hooked" me, lol. 2000 AD got me on Prog 21...
