  • One of the all time greats. Cant believe the response here, but you know what....? I really dont care, stuff most of the 99000 who have viewed and had no musical soul. I have been in harmony with this since it was first released. Was perfection, is perfection, always will be perfection

  • Ray Cross over and went solo to a white population

  • great song how come they never make music like this anymore? love the song

  • One of the all time greats - I was there at time it was released and still now, its as fresh and classy as ever. Timeless classic

  • I love Ray Parker and Raydio!! great music!!!

  • Another great one from Ray Parker Jr.

  • i also had forgotten about this song about 20yrs ago. what a good one-and thanks for the video of this extremely handsome and talented guy. i am 63 but not too old to look! thanks so much for posting!!

  • funny...I heard this song today while eatting at Arby's...first time in about 20 years or so.Was a forgotten song....great song.

  • the radio evolution at the beginning should end with a USB stick

  • I love the classic!

  • Totally tubular to the max!

    xoxo

    The Clarences

  • I keep wishing that someone somewhere would put out a song as good as this one. JUST this one song blows away anything that's been put out in the last 5 years!

  • this song sounds like the times then was nice and easy

  • @pk06511 and how i remember clearly

  • great tune we want more of it :)

  • This is a great simple song with a simple message

  • Great Song. Old Skool Music is the best.

  • ray parker jr mad a 2 albums that were very inderrated 1 st one was after dark he had 4 good cuts on it i don't think that men should sleep alone. over you a duet with natalie cole. after midnite a tight intrumental that was off the hook and the song perfect lover a very underated song he had some tight lyrics on it . i'll get into you girl you get into me we'll have fun so much fun but wait a minute just cause your good in bed baby don't mean were perfect lovers. and mexico on i'm free album

  • I loved this song as a kid. I think I was in junior high school when this one hit the airwaves. Cool video and great song! Sure miss these days! Life was so much simpler and funner. A catchy tune here too!

  • fabulous!!!! thank u so much for posting!

  • raydio

  • YAY... thanx for reminding me of my pre-teens!

  • got to love the 70's. Making adultery sounds groovy.

  • Great stuff.

  • Love that jacket Ray has on.

  • Thank you so much for posting this!!!! <3

  • he was so young made his big hit in 78

  • thanks for posting my acoustic cover as a response

always nice to hear Raydio on Youtube of course!

  • Ray Parker Jr has one of the best singing voices.

  • Holy shit! I haven't heard this in about 20 years. Awesome!

  • The other lead singer is the late Jerry Knight. The Carmichael Brothers and Knight sung most of the leads in the first three albums until Ray got the confidence to handle it himself. Parker is an amazing musician. He plays guitar on Stevie Wonders original "Superstition", played with Barry White and wrote "You Got The Love" for Rufus and Chaka Khan. He's one of the most underrrated guitarist/composers of the last 50 years.

  • @ethurst2

Wait a minute - I thought Jerry Knight is still alive. What happened?

  • Jerry Knight died of cancer. I think it was somewhere between 1986 and 1990.

  • wow - really, he plays on that Talking Book track?

I gotta cover more Raydio - at the moment I've only covered "jack and jill" on acoustic

"Jamie" doesn't sound too hot on guitar - its a key board track..

  • whats happen to jerry knight

  • The singer with the high voice is Arnell Carmichael. Who is the lead singer on this video?. It's not Ray, he sings backup on this.

  • A time when we had REAL music!!!

  • I forgot all about this tune. - now Im having flashbacks loool - good times :-)

  • Oh wow, I loved this song back in the day!

  • great choon

    five stars

  • This a awesome song! I love the chrous.

  • raydio took what parliafunkadelicment was doing and mashed it up with some stevie wonder...not a bad crossing...love the harmonies

  • thankyou, thankyou......these songs reminds me of the sublime madness of my youth...cheers

  • i know, i really love this song

  • one of the best chorus ever written...

  • Great song from the 70s....could we also get "You Can't Change That" from '79? Thanks for this.

  • "you can't change that was on youtube but was removed over copyright infringement or something like that a couple of times

  • why yes. i do believe he is on tambourine and keys. and may i recommend his 2005 album I'm free.

    yea....

  • now why do you think jack snuck down the hill? he needed love, love he couldn't get from jill. way d' go jack!

  • very good heartfelt song.people shouldnt forget how good radyo and ray were!!

  • ray was the song writer and a background singer but not the best singer. mr telephone man. ray got smart and went solo.

  • I mean the tamborine. Haha. At the key board, slick looking dude, haha, a banjo, wtf was I thinking

  • Is that actually ray singing?

It does not look like him in the video.

  • I think Ray is playing tambourine.

  • Ray has the banjo.

  • Sounds like living for the city in the beginning

  • The video is a bit crap - but a classic groove song! Thanks,

  • Ray is currently making a tit of himself in the UK in an advert for a directory enquiries company. The hook is "who you gonna call 118"and he appears numerous times in different costumes.

I would much rather remember him for classic tunes like this.

  • Amazing. 98% of the time, the camera is NOT on who's singing!

  • Boy I miss songs like this !

  • I think it is a terrible shame that Ray Parker Jr will forever be remembered for "Ghostbusters" and not this classic piece of soul/funk.

It's almost as bad as Men at Work being known for "Land Down Under" and not "Overkill" which by my standards is one of the best songs ever written...

    xxxx

  • I've alway's liked this song ... Thanks

  • Ottimo video!

    Grazie!

    Andrea.

  • Grazie a te Andrea, sei molto gentile! ; )

  • I'm very happy you like it, thank you.:)
