I love Doug and Carol, and I really dislike Luby, and I can't really say I ever cared for Reela, along with Carter and Abby, Doug and Carol are definately my favourite couple on E.R.
I never understood how he left this way. I fought to be with her for so long & they are finally together & he leaves. It's still sad to watch, but at least they got their happy ending.
The second she said, "I don't want to wake up alone tomorrow" I was bawling my eyes out. She is amazing here & I gotta say this was so out of character for Doug in my opinon...I don't know.
i love how julianna did this scene. from the small talk about how it went with anspaugh, she was obviously trying to hold all emotions in. i loved it when she started looking to her left instead of looking staright into doug's eyes and when she was blinkling so slowly and carefully. i loved how she was talking slow emphasizing everything --- "I'M here." and "i don't understand THAT."
and then she loses it with "i don't want to wake up alone tomorrow."
When he left... I cried more than Carol did... it was just... sooooooooo sad. I love Doug! And after she left... ER's just not the same... not without them
i did too!!! i cried more than carol did. i was 14 then and now i'm 24, it still breaks my heart. i love these two! i also stopped watching after george clooney left. carol without doug is like spoon without fork... sure you can still eat but it's just not complete. :)
I'm pretty sure that made me cry when I originally saw that episode...I was only about7 or 8, but I probably cried. IF YOU MISS GEORGE ON ER, RAISE YOUR HAND (OR JUST USE CAPITALS!)
I know contracts were to blame but I always just found it really hard to swallow that Doug would leave and Carol wouldn't go with him especially when she found out she was pregnant.
