I made a new handle in curly birch as I wasn't fully satisfied with the first one you see in the video. Perhaps I'm being a bit picky but you'll probably see why when I make my next video. Next I'm making the brass end plates, emulating the look of the yellow arsenic bronze of the viking age rather than the more safely cast bronze we usually see today which is reddish in colour.
