  • He was such a cute little boy in "The Shining," and now he's all grown up to be a very handsome man. I wonder does he ever think about returning to acting.

  • TOUCHDOWN JESUS AHHHHHHH YEEAAAAHHHHHH!!!!!!

  • OMG, the EYES! He is still 100% DANNY .

  • he and corey feldman resembled each other when they were younger

  • lol, totally unrecogizable (in fact, where is he?)

  • Danny Lloyd was one of the cutest child actors ever. His interview parts in 'making of the shining' were adorable. I recently watched the Stephen King's 1997 version of The Shining and I hate the kid who plays danny in that one. I just wanna kick that little poofs teeth out, he's so annoying. Actually that entire series was pathetic, especially in comparison with Kubrick's version.

  • @Lavern4101 Gotta agree with you. The '97 version follows closer to the novel, but Kubrick's version is still better and scarier.

  • @Pinhead222 lol Shelly was one hideous troll.

  • It must be strange for someone who's in his mid-thirties to sign a bunch of fans' pictures taken of him when he was five. I'm sure the money is good, though.

  • 2:52 -Ha ha, it's the ' "I Call Bullshit", Christ'. I'd like to know who's cousin designed that rubbish. Christ is like "WTF dude"?

  • HAHA that ending was scary......

  • The Jesus statue at the end was struck by lightning and burned down a while back. Maybe if they'd actually made the statue FLAME RETARDANT it wouldn't have happened! Well, at least we have video footage of it! Thanks for the vid, vsarabande.

  • What did those two guys do that made them tools?

  • Every once in awhile I like to google his name, and I came upon this video. I really liked seeing him with his fans. He is my uncle and I know personally he does not like to talk about the film, and doesn't like being "Danny" (I've tried) prefers Dan. I love my uncle, he is funny and a great person to be around.

  • @Elizabethlloyd1 Why doesnt he like talking about the film? Just tired of being asked about it or what?

  • Did anyone ask him to say "red rum" ? - lol!

My neighbor as a kid had the exact same tricycle that they used in the movie.

I wonder if the one in the movie was actually his or not.

  • Typical example of people who achieve success at very young age but fail to sustain it. The kid was so promising and adorable, but now he looks so average..... he's just an average teacher. He definitely had what it took to be an estimable hollywood actor.

  • @vikrantw2000 Ever thought that he did not want to pursue his acting career instead decided to teach? He was 5 come on his parents probably made him do it but there is no doubt the he enjoyed the experience though. But as of now he looks unhappy to be signing autographs and meeting fans...

  • Wait, is he the guy with the goatee?

  • amazing, you can grow up,change your wardrobe, hairdo or become bald,style....but the glance never change! you can be 30 years without seeing a person, but only for the glance you can recognize him. Thats its fascinate!!!

  • That was in Ohio? That's really close to where I live in Ohio. too bad jesus burned down

  • I am the same age as danny and when i saw this movie when i was around 10 years old freaked me the fuck out and it still does! He should be proud of this movie because other horror movies can't even compare and to work with a legend Stanley Kubrik best film maker ever is just golden.

  • Wow, I wonder whatever happened to Danny Lloyd. I remember it was him and Henry Thomas who were the big child movie actors then. But of course, Lloyd was in only The Shining and then... vanished into the hedge maze of horror movie history. Except for his eyes, it would be hard for anybody on the street to recognize him from his movie past.

  • @celticbro28 I agree he should be extremely proud. Even if I never did another movie before or after The Shining I'd love to have been the kid to play Danny just to say I was in one of if not the greatest horror movie of all time.

  • LOL much props for the vid

  • My god, the only part of him that I recognize from the Shining is the eyes. He's all grown up!

  • Am I to understand that Danny Lloyd is now a biology teacher? How fascinating! And he was a marvelous performer in the role of Danny Torrence.

  • He looks a lot like Edward Norton.

  • @UncleRabbit1 a mix of ed norton and simon pegg perhaps

  • Oh my God, he grew up to be Louis C.K.

  • Always wanted to know what he looked like now and was doing.

Glad you posted this video. The Shining is my fav horror film and the 4 performances are the best I've ever seen and felt. (JN, SD, DL and the Location) Terrifying your viewer in bright lighting&white snow-simple and genius. I wish him the best and I am gracious to him for the best film scare of my life.

(He doesn't need to do anymore acting-thanks for the glimpse.) That Jesus was cool too! A real WTheF moment.

  • Jack Torrance:DANNNNNNNNYYYY!!!!!!!!!

  • Hey, did the giant Jesus statue not get hit by lightning earlier this year?

FactVsReligion had a video, let me search it for you...

    ah, here it is:

    /watch?v=r0xN8ZEDQVk

  • He seems like just a regular guy.

  • Dan the Man! Too bad he quit acting...he was one of the best child actors of all time. He's still young enough to give it another go-round if he gets tired of teaching.

  • Wait is he the guy with the goatee

  • I went to grade and high school with him and we was never anything but nice to people. I believe he's a professor at a college in TN maybe? We just had our 20 year High School reunion and were talking about what had become of him.

  • @didipark72 Was he real popular in school? Were the other kids impressed with him due to his role in The Shining?

  • yeah and that little boy danny become a teacher

  • Wonderful !! And the sheer horror at the end was the icing on the cake!

  • He should meet Joe Hill -- the real life inspiration for the kid in the Shining. Then they should have a fight, and try to race each other on little trikes.

  • To bad he is so reserved about being part of such a Klassic Horror Flick, But I am glad he didn't end up a Hollywood Statistic. The A-Typical child star. Thanx for sharing this footage. Really glad 2C he is alive and well!,...*redrum,redrum*, I had too,....LOL

  • With that music...lol

  • wtf? Is that his house at 3:00???

  • @Paperbagman555 That's a church. Are you retarded

  • @DiverseLA Soz, didn't closely examine it. And i'm not christian so it seemed like a pretty modern church...

  • Danny achieved something most people in Hollywood have never heard of:

    A Real Job.

  • Danny made out better than Gary Coleman.

  • I heard his friend name is Tony "hi mrs Torrence "

  • THANKS for sharing this! My favorite movie of all time...I always wondered what happened to him.

  • Awesome! Thanks vsarabande for this and lol at thee ending

Would be nice to have a group picture of Danny, Linda Blair, Harvey (THE OMEN) Stephens and of course Kyra (N.O.T.L.D.) Schon

  • Very impressive, vsarabande. I found him in 2000 and spoke with his mother on the phone. Nice chat, but in a second phone she informed me Danny had declined my request for an interview. I also pitched it to People magazine, but they declined it also.

  • Danny looks great...thanks for posting...

  • How can someone so cute turn into a creepy man...?

  • He turned out to be a rather handsome duck! Like the ending - hilarious

  • He is just over a year older than I am. He WAY more successful careerwise than I am though! Oh well we all take different paths in life. :)

  • Interesting video....cool to see little Danny again. Funny though - the Jesus status on I-75 was struck by lightning two weeks ago and burned to the ground.........I live 15 mins from there.

  • @beachboy51971 that"s a signal god doesnt like big ridiculos status or christians maybe?Lol(english is my second lenguage)

  • The Butter Jesus was actually about ten miles from my house LOL! Danny hasn't changed much. Thanks for posting this :)

  • the sound at 0:37 is fucking scary!

  • I hope Danny Lloyd is okay. He did a great job as a kid in "The Shining". There are things adults choose for us when we are young and then there are things we choose for ourselves when we are adults. I hope he didn't have too hard of a time transitioning from a mega child star to being what he later chose to be, and I think that is a teacher, as I read. He must be very smart and strong.

  • Cool man..He actually looks the same...

  • @ccg1171 i disager, sad i think

  • No no he wasn't a prick birthofcharlie. This ws his FIRST convention ever so he didn't know what to expect. He was very reserved. Now if he'd do more conventions, yah, he would be more open, but I think I would have been reserved to, if it was my first convention. I will say this, he could make a small FORTUNE if he would do conventions as the Shining is one of the best horror films. Hope this helps.

  • @vsarabande Cool video. Thanks for posting

  • I do Biology for high school and if he ever taught my class and asked me a question i'de probably scream out REDRUM =D

  • He looks unhappy to be there or he just seems to be an unhappy person. I've heard that he's a bit of a prick. Is any of that true?

  • Heh... I'm kinda glad that being a 'child star' didn't turn him into a poor, drug addicted, alcoholic adult like it seems to in every other case. Good on him for pursuing what he wanted rather than being forced into Hollywood.

  • haha the ending is sooo random!

  • hope the al snow mentionned on the poster isn't the wrestler

  • No problem prahaladr. When I was there, I figured I would film a little as I'm sure there are THOUSANDS of folks who would like to see what little Danny looks like now. He was super nice and I wish him the best!

This was his ONLY convention appearance and his line was REALLY LONG.

  • Gawd.. This is the greatest video I have ever watched on YT!! Ever! The Shining was the greatest movie of the 80's and such a great treat to watch the child actor of that movie on YT!! Thank U so much for uploading this!!

  • wud love to meet him

    JELOUSSSSSSSS!

  • It's actually quite scary to see him as an adult when you've merely only seen him as a 7 yearold kid. But you still recognize him

  • @rutgerhauerfan I still look the same pretty much as I did at his age. Some of us just keep that "youthful look". lol

  • Tool 1 was one of those guys that when he got a microphone he thought he was THE SHI-! If you know what I mean. Tool number 2, I think he was the larger one, tried to get me to stop recording, I just didn't like it, so he got named that!! Glad everyone enjoyed the video so far. Danny was very nice. I had him sign my rare Shining LP.

  • Just curious... What did Tool 1 and Tool 2 do to earn their names? LOL.

  • Looks like Danny lost the baby fat in his cheeks...

  • oh,it's dissapointing that dude doesn't lool like the little fella at all.if i found him on the street,I wouldn't recognize him in a thousand years.

  • greetings from the shining island of rhodes greece hahahahahaha

  • That's kinda creepy how you were filming Danny without him knowing and the Bartók playing in the background hahaha

  • He looks the same in the eyes.

  • my anatomy teacher

  • he's a biology teacher now at a community college, he's real smart.

and i went swimming in that giant jesus lake when i was 15 hahahaha

  • Did you ask him to say: "Redrum" or "Danny isn't here Mrs. Torrance" ?

  • @billbuxlegs Only a total twat would say something like that.

  • That's a shame he doesn't like any recognition. I think his autograph was $40.00 at the convention and that is at least $20.00 more than anyone else charges and he had a LONE line. If he ever got shot on cash, he could make a small fortune on The Shining. He seemed VERY nice, but VERY private.

  • @vsarabande

But that's kind of the point, look at the kids who stayed in the business. Most don't end up too well. And he didn't make the decision to do those films really.

  • I'm watching the 30th anniversary of it and it's not like I remembered. It's much more suspenseful. I admit I was very young when it came out. It was nice seeing the footage of your encounter with Danny at the convention. I'm very glad to see that he didn't stay in the industry. That's just my personal observation.

  • @sweetdreamerzz Yeah I'd say he's doing much better than Corey Haim is about now.

  • i was in his bio class. he definitely does not like people to know that he is the kid in the shining. i heard stories about him throwing kids out of class who asked him questions about it. maybe he has changed his mind about this though.

  • OMG thats true? is he a biology teacher now? Its weird he doesnt like to remember the shining:/

  • Wow sounds like a harsh reaction. Wonder how they "asked him questions" I could see some kid in the back of his class "redrum...redrum"

  • Oh the poor bastard! I bet the cruel jokes from the disgruntled students are endless.

  • @sk9utube probably hates the phrase 'redrum" now lol

  • @asdasdasdasdasd23456 I wonder why. I know he wanted nothing to do with acting (he did like one film right after "The Shining" and that was it), but why would it make him so angry that he'd throw people out of class.

So it is surprising that he'd go to a convention about The Shining. Maybe he just wanted some extra money.

  • @DiverseLA I really think that it's cool that he went to a convention! But maybe he went because it was for a good cause and the money that he would've earned would have gone to charity?

  • he was my biology teacher hahahahahah

  • he's really shining now

  • wow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Thanks for sharing. I always wanted to know what he looks like now. The Shining and Phantasm are my favorite horror movies. I have to go to one of these conventions. I never knew they existed until about a year ago.

  • Ooohhh my gosshhh

I just think that he couldve made it big if he actually continued on being an actor!!

Hmm I bet he's the hot fave in his college now!! :D

    I'll be his pet-student!! XD

    And he's married!! Ahhh

How very amazing!! He movie still lingers on even after 20 years!!

  • it looks like him when he was a kid.

  • Hi, I made the video and shot it. The song is called Midnight The Stars and You. It was from the actual Shining film at the end. I had used ALL music from the original soundtrack in this video to give it more of a SHINING feel. I think there was a Stanley Kubrick compilation CD soundtrack put out a few years ago that had this on it. Thanks for posting!

  • Thank you ! Best Regards from Switzerland !! :-)

  • Hi Everyone,

Please, can somebody tell me the name of the song at the beginning ?? Thanks.

  • wow

  • He still looks JUST like him when he smiles

  • OMG, he's unrecognizable today! He just looks so average....he was so ADORABLE when he was a little boy! Apparently he's a biology teacher now.

  • aw.

  • Big Butter Jesus!

  • Very cool to see what he looks like now. He looks completely unrecognizable. What does he do for a living now? He only did one other movie after The Shining and dropped outta the acting business.

  • He teaches college now.

  • great video man. i too was at the fright night film fest but i just didnt go up and meet him. I heard he was charging like $40 a pop to sign something. I love the shining but i dont love it that much lol

  • Woah, Nice
