Plus, it being overly goofy kind of fit in with the gimmick to begin with (from my understanding The Mountie/The Quebecers gimmicks were created to make fun of the idea of "evil foreigners" in professional wrestling at the time.)

Alright guys here's the story behind the lyrics to the song. When Jacques Rougeau started to do the character the "Mountie" real mounties in Canada found it very offensive and made a lawsuit against Rougeau and the WWE for using the name. As a result, the name "Mountie" was something WWE could no longer use and so they made fun of the mounties with this song. I think it's pretty damn cool. It the real mounties in canada are going to be all gay about it, fuck em.
