  • We noticed CTI made quality albums. We picked up DEODATO and DEODATO 2 for 35 cents each in pristine condition the other day. ~ mphsVinylJim & the Mrs

  • I've heard Quetzacoatl pronounced like four different ways, guess we'll have to find an Aztec so we can learn the correct pronunciation.

Herbie Mann! lol That cover has always been good nightmare fuel, so 70's.

Glad you enjoyed the Fucked Up. It is a lot to take in, that's especially true of their newest album, they're like progressive hardcore or something, lol. It was very cool that we were able to meet up randomly like that and we will definitely plan something in the future.

  • I love going to new record stores. Record store owners are fascinating people if they will actually talk to you. So you are a Snake Oil salesman now, Tony? "This guy is thee hairiest bastard ever." "Herbie Mann is a flute player. He's also a sexy bastard." I have actually passed on the Herbie Mann album several times. I'm gonna get it now, I think. What's Going On is essential. I just found it for $1 in 1/18th the shape yours is in. That Archie Shepp record is sick! Nat'l Health.

  • that Spaces record looks great! what's going on, a classic indeed! islands look awesome too.

  • Hahaha, they have that Herbie Mann album at the record store I just visited last night, I said to myself what the hell was that guy thinking!? Worst cover 'art ever!

  • @onebigholiday42 Haha! I know! Man the 70's were definitely crazy I guess! Thanks for watching

  • Man you let me down BIG TIME...I thought I was finally going to learn how to say "Quetzalcoatl" but your effort was just as good as mine... The "Drug Song" is super classic.

Stay away from cliff and building ledges when listening to Bixby.

  • @SecOfunk Haha, I know! I tried to find a pronunciation...nothing! I have no idea. Yeah...is not the happiest of music, but very good! Thanks man

  • Hahahahaha! He is a sexy bastard ain't he?! Freakin fur blanket on dudes back. I was literally laughing out loud man! Good stuff, that made my day!

  • @McSoappy Thanks man, yeah it's a wonder what people think sometimes, or I guess the 70's were that different from today.

  • @MrFartboy79 Much different in the fact that razors apparently didn't exist.

  • That record store sounds great. Yes, the Spaces album sounds fantastic. This is the reason why the VC is so key because I get to add so many of these interesting choices. Mark {Doctor D} gave me a really cool Eberhard Weber LP called 'Yellow Fields'. He is an incredible bass player. I actually like that type of jazz. Hocus Pocus by Focus. I also wondered if that was titled on purpose? I like Islands by Crimson. Not a favorite but still a solid album. Nicely done~

  • killer coreyell and love the back ground music. I had that herbie mann in my hand the other day. Fack i regret not taking it now when i hear you talking about it! Whats going on on originall for 18. crazy! That focus is kinda good but i have a hard time listening to it. Never seen thatCrimson island cover! dont have a copy. have to get it!

  • Cool stuff man. That Spaces album looks really cool. Nice Hubert Laws pickups. I recently gave Michael Hurley a listen online, but I'm not sure which album it was. I will have to check out that Six Organs of Admittance album. I am in desperate need of a record store trip. It's been quite a while since I have been.

  • Yeah Bixby!!!! I did show that a long while ago and man is it fantastic eh? Truly haunting acid/loner/cult folk. You didn't mention "The Group" which was the cult he was wrapped up in, and that each copy of that LP was sold by members of The Group, who also sold hair brushes and combs, the money made from Ode went to the recording of the Harbinger LP "Second Coming" which actually featured the cults feared leader "Sir", along with Dixby. Crazy stuff man, glad you picked it up. Cheers. -Dan

  • @dhanycz You know... I thought you mentioned that he was in a cult when you showed the record...I tried to go back and find that video of yours, but no luck. I didn't see anything about that is the liner notes (unless I missed it? It's possible) so I didn't mention it. Very cool record for sure. Thanks man

  • Great update Tony! Juju is one I'd love to puck up. Your collection is seriously incredible man. I gotta delve into K Crimson a bit more too. Wonderful sounds.

  • Focus are a great (but not the best) Dutch prog bands from the '70s! Great update!

  • Magic of Juju is classic. Nice Larry Coryell & Hubert Laws records. Great you got bump into the KoolRanch collective! Focus are from Holland. You should check out the Jan Akkerman records too. National Health's S/T is cool as hell!

  • Check out the Laws LP I mentioned in a video of mine on which he covers two Pink Floyd songs from More, those are pretty cool. It's called Crying Song. Fucked Up are a local band. Focus LPs are always worth checking out. Glad that National Health was still there. Islands is one of my fav KC LPs, it has some amazing prog/jazz tunes that really grow on you with repeated listenings. North American cover, Canada had it too. I'm glad you opted not to make it a quick one - great video as always. :)

  • Holy Shit Tony, I bitched in a video about youtube not sending me notices about your videos the other day, and for the first time ever I got one! Just shows youtube listens to us and cares about our concerns. ;) Weber is awesome, I sent Rob/Paneeks one as a gateway drug to get him into jazz, not sure it worked. LOL! Spaces looks like something I need to find a copy of. HAHAHA Push Push, I always thought Spudboy had cropped his head on to Stallone's body.
