I love the irony of him putting the cube back together wrong immediately after warning us that putting your cube back together work will result in not being able to solve it.
thanks loL! my rubiks cube was mixed and alot of guides require you too start with a already solved or unused cube so this helped me put mine back together correctly lol.
i aggree i about gave up and said oh ok i broke mine but u really have to push the last piece in there and if ur pieces broke u really didnt do it right and should stick to 2x2 or even crossword puzzles
unless you need to grease or lube your rubik's cube, dont even bother trying to disassemble it. And even if you need to lube it, you can spray MS 40 into the cube without taking it apart. That simple.
I have one of the new ones, you'll just need something to actually pry it open, it's near impossible to do simply with bare hands as this video shows with an older cube.
mine is one of the new ones, and it's literally imposible to pry it open. at least there's this guy in homeroom that can fix a rubik's cube behind his back, or else i could never see a cube with the right colors on each side.
u know, when taking apart the cube, u can take apart those first three pieces, but after that, it's faster and more fun to just make random moves on it so that it all starts to fall apart at once. i think it's actually safer to use this "random move" method to taking apart the cube.
My retarded friend decided to be cheap and take two of the stickers off two corner pieces and switch them to try and "figure it out".. But I don't see how two pieces would solve it.
Instead I sat here wondering why it wouldn't solve and disassembled it using this video to find the two stickers misplaced and fixed the problem. Thank you!
In general lubricating plastic with oil is not a good idea. Google WD-40 cube and you will see many warnings against trying this. Silicone-based lubricants are best for cubing.
Glad the vid was useful! Simply the act of taking it apart will actually loosen the cube up a little bit. You can get silicone spray at a hardware store. I wouldn't recommend baby oil, not that I've actually tried that.
Haha, thanks dude, saved my life :]

ive heard that vasolene works for oiling your rubix cube also
mememealsome 2 years ago
It's not supposed to be a good idea, since vaseline is petroleum-based and the cube is plastic.

can you take it apart when it is unsolved?

Yes, just be sure put it back together in a solved state .
jeaysm 5 years ago
THANKS, i needed this.
you said at 2:27 "if the cube is to loose, use silicon spray to loosen it up"? -_-
what substances can i use to make my rubiks cube spin easier? will baby oil work?
Xiphion 5 years ago
Glad the vid was useful! Simply the act of taking it apart will actually loosen the cube up a little bit. You can get silicone spray at a hardware store. I wouldn't recommend baby oil, not that I've actually tried that.
