  • I'm young and sharp.

I'll respect your opinions, but never because you claim wisdom based on age.

If you genuinely want to stop ageism, stop engaging in it!

  • ageism, yep, i got it. what a terrible disease to live with. WHAT DO YOU MEAN IT'S NOT A DISEASE?!!!!! oh, i see, discrimination, got it.... no, not got it, dont want it. hehehe

  • I only discriminate ppl with bad energy. Not to be confused with being badass. So I have a rare form of Badenergism.

This video has a strange delivery but he's right.

  • You're 100% Right.

Definitely 5 Stars cause you're right.

    Ageism is Wrong.

  • You are right on all accounts!

  • Right on brother.

  • dat wuz a creepy video

  • Age discrimination is illgeal in all forms. I agree with this video.

  • well said! well said!

  • I have never heard of someone's ideas being disregarded because he was too old. Ageism against the young is far more common. Younger people (kids especially) have much more trouble being taken seriously. This is reflected by the fact that many people think they have the right to boss children around and punish them just because they are younger.

You look to be middle aged, so you would probably face the least ageism of anyone.

  • And your point is...? I get ageism all the time from the young. I consider myself eternally youthful. How old are you?

  • Quote: "And your point is...? I get ageism all the time from the young. I consider myself eternally youthful. How old are you?"

Why are you asking how old I am? It shouldn't matter, right? Do you need to know my age to decide whether or not to take my ideas seriously?

  • My point is you're a moron. Regardless of what your age is. OK?

  • I think that's bullshit. Our western culture is so focused on youth that what you say rings not quite right. If you're middleaged, you're basically seen as "old". I'd say it's a teens and young adults world, atm.

  • Not so. The ageism against young people is reflected in the laws. Young people are not allowed to vote, drive, drink, or in some places even be outside at certain times during the day. There are a lot of age restrictions everywhere.

Also, many people say things like "I hate kids" or "I can't stand kids" and speak to them in a very patronizing way. Imagine if someone said "Oh, I hate blacks" or "I can't stand black people." That person would be labeled...

  • ...a racist. It's only fair then that someone who says the same things about kids should be labeled an ageist.

  • Yes so, I think you have to be blind to not see that this is a "young persons world", from the jobmarket, to advertising, to the musicworld, Hollywood and whatnot.

Furthermore, I would question if what you see as ageism in your first paragraph is really ageism or more along the lines of common sense; I think there's a line between ageism and what you are talking about, and I'm not sure if not liking kids always has to do with ageism, I tend to think people who don't like kids don't like people.

  • Although that is a new thought, but I wouldn't be suprised if people who don't like kids are generally misanthrophists.

Anyway. Ageism is prevalent when it comes to being older than what is deemed as "young", from "anti ageing", to seeing less and less over 40 year olds in Hollywood productions, on tv, in magazines, in the musiccharts etc.

Ageism against "young" people is nothing compared to that.

  • *misanthropists

  • Hollywood is pretty pro-youth/anti-aged, but hollywood is dumb as fuck. The day we start acting like hollywood's opinion means shit is the day the world ends.

excuse my french. It's hard to resist with hollywood

  • Well, it seems like the masses are Hollywood brainwashed, so it does "matter". Though I hardly pay attention because it has become so generic...

  • Ageism against younger people is VERY common and DOES make it harder to get a job.

In my last job I was seriously handicapped by being the youngest person there. My coworkers did not respect me and since cooperation was a big part of that job it slowed down everything I did.

Ageism against older people can be just as bad but in my experience it's nowhere near as common. Most people I know don't discriminate based on age unless you are REALLY old

This culture favors the 30-45 year old white male

  • If you are above the age of 16, you should be permitted to drive. Yes, people who wish to vote are the ones that have to wait until they are nearly 20. And I agree that it seems pretty stupid.

  • I certainly agree. Disregarding someone's thoughts because they are in a different age group is ridiculous.

Some "old people" (most, actually) have a lot of amazing stories and wisdom to share. Some of them are ageist themselves, however, and tend to not share this wisdom in a friendly way. They just come across seeming jaded and ageist themselves.

That's the problem with ageism (and all prejudice): being the recipient leads to you dishing it out in return; it's a vicious cycle.

  • Face it your past middle age your not a teenager anymore grow up! Your other videos are very CHILD LIKE & MADD CORNY!

  • and you are most certainly a MADD DOUCHE BAG.

  • How is he past middle-age ? Do you need glasses ?

  • yes, he should grow up, women should stay in the kitchen, and blacks should never have been freed from slavery.

because the established norm is always right

    (sarcasm anyone?)

  • The last person that picked on me because of my age got this response: Pfft, I was on the internet while you were still in diapers. You know nothin'.

    :D

  • Psychics are a bunch of liars. I am going to have to take a stick of dynamine and blow up your fantasy land.

  • What happened? You turned into a youtube priest spreading good advice?! Oh my Goooood. Someone give this man beer! Fast! His brain is recovering and we need to stop that asap!!

  • Thanks for the info; I'll go check him out! ;-)
