On the size of quarries, two smaller ones are faster than one large. With a large quarry you get dirt and sand and cobble for a long time before you get the good stuff.

@MrCyberife yeah smaller ones are better when starting off! or small then enlarge it! then (As you said) you dont end up with chests full of dirt and cobble for ages :)

Thank you for the captions. It is great for the hearing impaired and there are a lot of us playing MineCraft. Try teleport pipes. they will eliminate the long pipe runs. I think they are called "additional pipes for BuildCraft" now. I send everything from the quarry by teleport pipe to my main base and sort there. That way I only had to set up my sorting station once.

Why didnt you use a steam engine? Arent they just as fast and they only need coal?

@MrMinecraftfox Are you sure? Because i just tried it and its making my quarry run jus fine :D but then again.... i am using a cobblestone generator so.. I guess going slower is better? Or did you just mean that it wouldnt go as fast with a steam engine? Anyway great video! Keep making more about buildcraft, some stuff can be complicated. Try using Equivelant Exchange AND buildcraft! Its great!

Such a cruel place to end the video.... We need to see the results of your quarry! I'm always curious to see just what they yield. Incidentally (you probably already knew this) you can power a quarry with a simple redstone clock, but it's very slow. Sometimes it's worth doing it that way until you get your fuel/oil/lava setup ready.

Try putting an Obsidian, or Vacuum pipe, at the collection area of your Cactus spawner. Then hook that all up to a chest. Automatic collection :) Obviously, you could also hook it up to furnaces to make Cactus Green Automatically as well.

@NoHeadsProduction done :) in next video! i needed obsidian first before i could do it! got it collecting in chest, will make all my ores and cactus smelt automatically sometime but not a priority at moment as got too much anyway :P

@CalumEliteGaming the pool? or the tanks? make sure you have buildcraft 2.something, anything lower and it doesnt store lava! redownlaod world and update to latest buildcraft (now 2.22)

Also for people, If you want to give buildcraft a test run try the seed Jesse co.

Its a name made up by goofing around and in the spawn area is a massive desert with alot of oil pools/gisers
