  • I can verify the decoy doesn't work. I moved it every day - one week later I came home and a GBH was sitting next to it - not mating season either. The Scarecrow sprinklers don't work very long either. The GBH WILL learn that it poses no threat, and be sitting right beside it happy as a lark..luh, heron! The ONLY thing I've found that keeps them away is netting (extreme), fishing line strung around pond in a web, or a good guard dog. Good luck!

  • The decoy does not work, In fact it is being seen more and more that they may actually be attracting the birds more than keeping them away. We actually have pics taken with a trail cam of a great blue Heron attacking the decoy, poking holes in it, finally broke it off the post and then went fishing. One Heron removed 20 fish ranging from 8"-18" in less than 48 hours. Scare crow works well but don't forget to turn it off when you go to the pond, unless you want to get wet. netting helps also.
