Those little pre-fight "interviews" are the dorkiest, most awkward mess I have ever seen. They can be so much better. She asks Air a silly question, he answers with the most generic response anyone could come up with, she turns to his opponent and asks "same for you?" as if he's gonna say "no". They should keep it but make it more interesting because as it is, it's just a cringe-inducing experience I could do without. She even got UltraChen blushing.

When you're at the top tier, character selection becomes more important because the players are so good that they can make the best use of the character's tools, so whichever characters have the best tools tend to be picked more. And of course matchups matter - this is why Poongko can perfect Daigo but lost to Uryo horribly at season's beatings, and why Daigo has a ten minute match with FChamp using Ryu, then switches to Yun and wins two minutes.
