  • i like it man

  • Sounds good. Focus on your tonguing, it's a little sloppy. Also, I don't like your grasshopper fingers. There were a few times where I could hear your tongue not matching your fingers and I'm guessing it's because you have the grasshopper fingers. But you're a very good tubist. Good work.

  • @smallville14fan Thanks, I'll keep that in mind

  • shouldnt you always have the tips of your fingers on the valves?

  • The background beat was him masturbating

  • what key is that?

  • the bird is freakin' out!

  • Hypnotic Brass Ensenble!

  • lovin that sousa-cam :D

  • Dit is zooo geweldig!!

  • Is that a bird chirping in the back ground? He's jamming that's for sure, maybe high lol!!

  • I listened to this a few times so I could play it. I played for my director. She loves it!

  • Thanks, Good video to see your piston.

    friend of Paris ;)

  • This is nasty Like omg your freaking talnted yo

  • this is good

  • One question were you high

  • Fantastic!!

Could I use the basic riff to form a song?

  • @mehbleh300 Everybody can use it, and probably it was allready used in many songs. Probably I heard it somewhere, put it way back in my head and then it came back when I recorded this video. Oh, and if you can put it to notes then the other readers are also happy.

  • @pcrom

    Thank you very much

  • i would love to learn that,,, can you find out the notes? i know you listen by ear but can you decode the notes?

  • is it just me or are you playing with the side of your mouth? u sound good none the less

  • Very good! I've always liked the sound of the Sousaphone.

  • what are the notes to this song?

  • Thanks

  • Bravo c'est impressionnant!!!!

    It's amazing!!!!

I'm a french soussaphone player.... I'm very far to have your level....

    I'm admirative...

  • Hi There,

I played this on a Besson Sousaphone i bought at a local music store. Since 2 years I play a CONN sousaphone which I bought at another local music store

  • thanks:)

  • Comment removed

  • hi...from where did you bought that sousaphone?

  • what do u think about mexican banda tuba players??? chek out banda jerez-me vale ver gatos bravos u just search that.. and if u like it who knows u may like it.. and u know what else?? i'm looking for a tuba guy haha

  • is your sousaphone completly metal?

  • The outside of this one is. Some of the inner parts aren't.

  • your

  • Did you ever figure out the notes? If so can you send them to me?

  • That is just totally fantastic ... Sort of like Kirk Joseph - but with a slightly more spicy beat.

Any chance you would make the time to burn a clean recording of this? Like just as it is?

It's the coolest base track I've heard this year.

Cheers and thanks for putting it up.

    Jon

  • Uncomfortably close to other varieties of amateur video, IYKWIM.

  • Sorry I don't play from paper so no notes available

  • @pcrom what key did you play in? im guessing Bb from the pitches but i like it the instrumentation for the bass line is amazing. most people think tuba's (or sous's) do nothing but the oompa loompa theme sounds good to hear someone having fun while playing!

  • fingertips?? ..........>.>

  • dude, thats awesome as hell dude, any music for that>

  • yeah it would be awsome....if he was actually playing it =D

  • Hei brandon. Finally someone who sees its not me playing it but a puppet. If you look real good you see the strings attached to the fingers. It was recorder playing the violin and then backwards played at half speed. How did you figure that out ?????? Thanks

  • the video isnt in sync with the audio

  • Hey JVic1992, how long have you been around YouTube? You do know that it has problems with video/sound sync right?

  • @Lazerzp3wp3w i was responding to brandon 10 months ago addressing that problem

  • nice

  • the sound at 1:57 is rather elephant like, i dig that.

  • hi.

so here some cooments (you want it so :-))

unfortunatly the sound and the video are not syncron (sry, im german^^) but the play itself is realy cool! i play bass trombone and actually im planning to learn tuba/sousaphonebut im too lazy to practice the finger combinations and stuff...

    greets,

    doenerman

  • I wish I could play like that!

  • In order to fully practice this exercise, must one have that funky fresh look on her face and do the stompy-hitty thing? Is that a bird in the background? Do you like cheese? If so, which kind? Can you play anything else?

I like tubas. I kinda suck. You're pretty cool though. I like to sing through my tuba. I rock at making dance music. I could totally work in a club.

I have the attention span of an infant, and this video is too long.

  • Well to perform this exercise you need to like Danish Blue cheese, look like a nerd, have a love-bird with new batteries inside and it is an advantage to have a very bad memory because than you only have to learn how to play one number. Mostly I play for elderly people which minds are not 100% anymore or deaf people.

O by the way, I always play this song with only a t-shirt on.

  • Haha, just don't dent the bottom of the horn!

  • your comments are extremely funny...i love you!!!! i couldnt stop laughing!!

  • he aint even playin dat

Seriously - the video and sound are not synchronized

  • STILL KICK ASS :D

  • AND THE BIRD WAS IN TUNES FOR A LIL BIT :P

  • Yes and you must hear the bird reacting to the video as I replay it ha ha ha

  • LOL I NO KIK ASS BIRD I WANT ONE :P

  • I am still trying to let him play sousaphone but he has no hands to control the knobs ha ha ha

  • lmao xD

  • :P LMAO I WANT ONE TO REACH TO MY TUBA :P

  • Hey do you havew the sheet music for that? :) its great! :)

  • very good.... all u need is a drummer now

  • Well I'm trying to train my bird to drum but unfortunately he does not keep the tact

  • giving him candy might get him interest in learning :D

  • yo yo yo!..

  • palhaçada....

    nem sequer esta a tocar...vergonhoso!!!

  • Sousaphone is perfect for funk hehe.

  • Yeah I was going to say that camera has horrible sound quality.

Can't you get a good mic to plug in to the camera?

  • I usually rip on everybody, but I'm speachless.

    Nice!

I like the camera angle. How'd you do that with the camera?

  • Thanks for the comment. Please feel free to rip on me, as I could only learn from it.

Camera is mounted on a small tripod which is mounted to the sousaphone. Unfortunately the sound quality of the cam is pretty bad (Minolta photo camera)

  • Marktplaats/ebay goed in de gaten houden en loop regelmatig bij muziekwinkels binnen (van Gorp (brabant) en die in Posterholt. Stuur me een pm als je meer info wil

  • Oh my god,

    I am so going to

use that for a warm up.

    ;D

  • that good i play the tuba but next year i will play the sousaphone

  • Well, we do use the breathing gym, by the way is an excellent warm-up. But ok well thanks for the enjoying video.

  • Hey, I'm the tuba section leader at my high school, and I was wondering if maybe I could get the music for a warm-up for my section. lol

  • Sorry but I cannot play from paper. I play what comes into my mind - that of course could also be a warm-up for your students. I would also recommend the DVD 'Breathing gym' by Pat Sheridan and Sam P....

See my breathing technique movie for more information on this DVD - but it only contains breathing techniques.

  • You could always just transcribe it using some music composition software. It's work, but I bet it'd be worth it.

  • is their anyway that you can get me the music for this.....??

  • Sorry I can't play from paper

  • um wats up wit your cam it's late for everything like u cud be taking a breath and the music wud still be playin

  • Yes, I know. The sound and video is not always synchrone. When I watch the video on my computer, its ok. I heard it has something to do with youtube but I'm not sure. You see this on many youtube movies.

  • What kind of sousaphone are you playing on?

  • Fantastic. Sousaphone and budgie togther. Seriously though - really enjoyed it, thanks!

  • Thanks, I'll pass the reaction to my bird

  • did you make this up yourself?

  • Well it just came up to me 2 minutes before recording.

  • That sounds really nice, do you know a place were i can find a sousaphone for less that $1,000?

  • A sousaphone for less than $1000 ? Thats difficult. Just dig the ebay or 2nd hand shops and be lucky

  • wow... i REALLY hope i can get that good!

  • wow! gah... how long have you been playing???

  • Hi, Tubachick94, Thanks for your comment. I play now for about 6 years the sousaphone.

  • you so good my man...

  • The bird sure digs this one.
