  • Great Video..Made me LOL...Towards the end during draw practice all I could think about was that seen from Taxi Driver...."You talking To Me"

  • What degree cant do you have the gun, and great vid man

  • Thanks for the video. Well done!

  • Thanks for taking the time to make this video!

  • it would look if nice you make a hostler but with a mag compartment some where

  • Please take this as constructive criticism: after watching a handful you're videos seem way too long to me. I love watching vids like yours for the ideas and inspiration you get (just like you said, and I did get some from you), but taking over 2 minutes to explain one simple concept is a bit excessive. 15 min total. I think if you make some quick notes for what you want to say beforehand it will make your vids even more enjoyable to watch. Keep up the great work & promote sheepdogs!

  • @johnv2pt0 You're going to LOVE the new How-To video I'm making, in that case! I took notes, but it still came out to an hour and a half!

  • @PhillyEDC lol noted.

  • Would you be willing to make me a Kydex sheath for my leatherman, and a Fenix TK-10 flashlight?

I know it's easy, as per your videos, but I dont have the tools or time, and cant use a oven without getting my ass reamed.

If so, pls email me at civilaffairssgt@gmail.com and we can talk there.

    Thank You.

    SFC Craig

  • You said the sanding took a lot of time. I have made products in both leather and kydex and will make a sanding suggestion. Buy a FLEX DRUM SANDER. It is the absolute most convenient way to sand edges of anything i have tried. Not an inflatable drum sander but it is foam with long cylindrical or tubular sanding wheels. They are cheap and you can sand any thing from metal to plastic kydex wood rods and anything else. Great tutorials you do thanx.

  • Ok, after all the info and looking at a lot of diffrent things, I am going to re-try the kydex gunholster. I think I can make one much better with all the info I have collecter. And it will only cost me about 3 bucks to try so........ Thanks for the info!

  • Oh and I see you have a "blue tape" trick too. I have seen that. I have heard that works great for knives and such, but on a firearm is it advisable? I see you use alot of Kimbers, witch are great weapons, but what about a revolver? Have you had any experience? If I do this, I will use a Springfield 1911 and possible a Smith and Wesson j frame .357.

  • @ilovealldeadthings The blue tape works great on guns. A little CLP takes the tape residue right off, no problem. As far as the cloth goes, I'm just talking about a Rusty's Rags style gun cleaning/treatment wipe, that's all.

  • Now this is the factory supplied holster, but it is an adjustible type. So a press fit form may work better........ok I may try this out. Like I said, I have some ordered and do want to use some for my gear. What type of silicone cloth? is it like a liquid treatment and do you apply it from time to time? What about a sugestion on how much of the firearm you would cover and what kind of press do you use? Is it a commercial bought one or did you make it? If you made it, do you have a video?

  • I agree.......over a long enough period of time, and if you don't treat the leather it's even quicker. My Springfield came with a Kydex holster, I tried it out and hah noticeable scuffing after ony drawing it 3 or for times. All of my weapons are rotated as EDC's, as I do have my CCP here in Tennessee.Never had a problem anything like that with leather. All that bieing said. I do intend to make carry holsters for some of my gear. I guess what I need to know, is there a lineing you and use?

  • @ilovealldeadthings Those universal Kydex holsters can be harsh on a gun because they don't fit with any kind of precision. If the gun can move and shift while it's inside the Kydex holster, that can increase wear. Also, if it's made with sharp edges or seams, they will inevitably scratch the gun. A tight fitting kyex holster with nothing sharp or pointy internally won't scratch the gun. I don't line the holsters, but I hear that giving the inside a wipe down with silicone cloth works great.

  • This is terrible for gun finishes. Insert and removal of the weapon scrubbs it like crazy! you will reduce the value of your firearm, keep the kydex to stuff finishes won't matter on. GUNS RUST!

  • @ilovealldeadthings Kydex has proven itself to be no worse than leather in terms of overall wear across the lifespan of a gun. A leather holster can buff the finish off a slide over a long enough period of time. The most reliable and consistent way to ensure your guns remain perfect is to confine them to the gun safe permanently. Although that may reduce the ENJOYMENT value of your firearm.

  • dude that is a sweet holster!

  • Your video gives me many ideas to get started.

    Love the two tone.

    Thank you

  • @ 13:05 you messed up on your draw there partner....LOL...

  • I love the safety hold switch on it thumbs up man

  • could you make me one for my xd 9 inside the waste a single mag pouch?

  • cool vids. I want to make a kydex sheath for a sog tomahawk. Thanks for the tips...

  • Are you doing any lined kydex holsters? Which guns do you have molds for....is a Sig 1911 RCS one? thanks

  • clean your kydex between steps. That is his only real advice besides a long ass pep talk, and then showing off the holster.

    outline bro outline...ya know?

  • Haven't tried this on my handgun yet but I use a cigar box and two dish washing sponges. Works great for my knives. Made over 50 pieces so far. Most for me, some for friends and other that I sold on ebay.

  • Nice! I've just started working with kydex and had pretty good success thus far. After I make a double mag carrier for my 1911, similar to the one you had in another video, I'm going to try making a holster for my Tactical Ultra II. And just curious, where did you get your chicago screws?

  • You are getting better and better, great work!

  • thanks for the videos i really like them you go over alot of information

  • Your kydex videos are really great, thank you. Keep working at it, maybe you can start your own small customized holster business from home - just get a good website and market the hell out of yourself on gun forums.

  • Milk Jugs! Oh my goodness. Thanks for the info and advice. I'll keep you posted on.my progress.

  • This is awesome. I'm going to attempt it. I am also in Philly. There is a shop called everything plastic in the Northeast. They are trying to talk me in to ABS. They have a an .060 thickness I will use. A 8x4 sheet for $55. I could not find a left handed, light bearing, holster for my Taurus PT1911. I do have a question or two. What kind, and where did you get the rivets? I hope to start the project next week. Wish me luck. And keep up the GREAT work.

  • I like those loops. I also found the .08 and .093 to be much better to work with... I would love to know your method for smoothing those edges. you're right, working this stuff is highly addictive it's such a great material and hobby. great video. Think laterally.

  • @GunfightersINC Finishing the edges can be the most time consuming part of the project. I don't have a belt sander or anything, so I start by putting a piece of 100 grit down on the bench and working the kydex against that. I'll do it on an angle, too, to make a bevel. That works for the larger, straighter edges. I do the curves by hand. Then, I repeat the process with 200 and finally 600 grit. I try to use the saw as little as possible since scoring and breaking the kydex is such a clean edge.

  • nice
