I'm pretty sure he did say something along the lines of that in the 90s FUNimation dub (but I will admit that whether or not that's canon, is debatable). Also, in DBZ Kai, Piccolo and/or Vegeta, after sensing King Cold's power level, said that it was higher than Frieza's.

Seeing as how everyone thought 1st form Frieza was the most powerful being in the universe until Goku transformed, I would say it's safe to assume those Yardrats didn't give any training too intense for Goku. Also, Frieza didn't see the sword strike coming. Yajirobe proved that you don't need a high power level to cut someone with a sword if they don't see it coming, as shown when Yajirobe cut off giant monkey Vegeta's tail.

Cold bears a remarkable resemblance to Friezas second state and Chiller resembles his first state. Each member of the family has identical forms. Even Friezas son can transform! Great video :) It's a shame that they didn't really do very much with King Cold. It will never be known how strong King Cold really was as Trunks cut into him very quickly and did not give him a chance to try anything but of course Trunks just did the very thing the other characters should've done to save them lots of trouble later on but ah DBZ isn't always about common sense and would be boring if every enemy got their ass kicked before reaching their pinnacle :)
It's hard to believe Krillen almost succeeded in defeating Freiza in his 1st transformation; just imagine if the discs that cut off Friezas tail had managed to get the torso or the head. Krillen may be the Kenny of the DBZ universe but Krillen was a huge threat to Frieza thanks to the technique he had. If Frieza could get sliced by his own attack thanks to a distraction Krillen had a very good chance of taking Frieza down :)

I must add that the general consensus of Frieza, Cooler, and King Cold are that they are not leaders of an actual country but are instead leaders of a Planetary Trade Organization (hence the Saiyans finding "buyers" of planets). An empire and a monarchy are two different (yet not very different) forms of government. Essentially an Empire and a Monarchy are the same thing, but there are minor differences. Also just because a country is a Monarchy doesnt mean that it can not be classified as an empire. This can be seen with Great Britian which is a monarchy and is classified as an Empire that at one point stretched itself out over the entire world.
I've only read that chapter once so I don't clearly remember but I know in the japanese version of the anime it was clearly stated that Freeza was coming with somebody much stronger than him. Plus Cold is a king right? So that would make Freeza a prince since he's his son and all.

An empire can consist of many different countries working together under the rule of one emperor. There is no basis to determine what power King Cold is at since he didn't really fight. You don't even know if he can transform his body. And as Gohan was saying, Frieza wasn't at his full power on Earth either. He was only at 50%.

@keithbu I meant more like, why did they not choose to show off King Cold. Sure it would have been the same transformations as Frieza, but we all loved seeing a new Saiyan go gold. Plus, could have worked to explain a widened gap from Namek to Android sagas.
Trunks SS > Transformed King Cold > King Cold > Mecha Frieza > 100% Frieza. Would have made Androids seem even more BA if they handed Trunks his ass every other day. Yet another thing I wish DBZ had added. lol

@LBJMVP6 Agreed. Of all the fights they have, I would have loved to see the Goku vs Mecha Frieza and King Cold fight. In Trunks timeline, Goku obviously defeated them but I still would have liked to have seen how Goku defeated them.

Great Britian's monarchy is now more of a tradition then a political party after the establishment of British Parlament. I also would have to agree that King Cold is not an underling. I must add that the general consensus of Frieza, Cooler, and King Cold are that they are not leaders of an actual country but are instead leaders of a Planetary Trade Organization (hence the Saiyans finding "buyers" of planets). In that sense it would be a Corprate Empire.

An empire and a monarchy are two different (yet not very different) forms of government. Essentially an Empire and a Monarchy are the same thing, but there are minor differences. Also just because a country is a Monarchy doesnt mean that it can not be classified as an empire. This can be seen with Great Britian which is a monarchy and is classified as an Empire that at one point stretched itself out over the entire world.

I've only read that chapter once so I don't clearly remember but I know in the japanese version of the anime it was clearly stated that Freeza was coming with somebody much stronger than him. Plus Cold is a king right? So that would make Freeza a prince since he's his son and all.

@Bloodthr0e No King and Emperor are the same thing, a monarchy that is passed down through family and all of Friezas underlings refered to him as "lord" which is a step down from a king and Trunks had is pwr lvl down to 5 I think and King cold is as you can see only in his second form and was about the Same as mecha Frieza so if he transformed into his 3rd form he would be superior in power. The reason why king cold listens to frieza is because frieza is the spoiled brat of the family.

@metroidshroom Wow, a simple google would tell you the difference between an emperor and a king. A king rules a country, an emperor like frieza rules an empire. An empire can consist of many different countries working together under the rule of one emperor. There is no basis to determine what power King Cold is at since he didn't really fight. You don't even know if he can transform his body. And as Gohan was saying, Frieza wasn't at his full power on Earth either. He was only at 50%.

@Bloodthr0e Well we cant exactly prove this can we, he last power level ever taken was Trunks a power level of 5. The only reason why I think King Cold is stronger is when Trunks owned Frieza he was stunned that he lost his son but after that he showed no fear of trunks at all like he could beat him and when is Frieza ever refered to as emperor any way I have only heard him called "Lord" but it depends on which dub you watch. But Japan has an emperor but he only is ruler of the islands of Japan.

Have you notice after Freiza went to his fnal form he stayed there after the fight with Goku in Hell or even in movies and DBGT even there non canon .
