I believe the Darkness Flame would beat Amaterasu simply because Hiei's technique has more force and can be directed through the Amaterasu while the other is more of a wall or direct-target technique.

@yikuan Hi, I guess it's possible, that his first dragon was enough strong to kill him, because it was just few secs after it's summoning, but as it approached the wall the dragon's power rapidly weakened. Kurama said it wasn't perfect that time, so I guess it's because of it and when it hit the wall it looked more like the dragon was made from dark liquid then from the flames, it's just my opinion, you can think something different :)
