  • Amazingly he's playing the high notes on a CELLO oO can't tell how many times I'm already practicing, but compared to his, my skill is very poor... and don't even dare to mention the speed...

  • wonder how tihs peace would be on violin. even more amazing

  • this is amazing, WOW

  • This really has a "modern sylvan" feel to it. For me, the whole arrangement evokes Robin Hood riding through Sherwood in the silver-screen classic movie. Very romantic. Sometimes it is not about better or worse, but rather intention, mood, and portrayal. This one has a lightness or comedy beyond what I personally associate with elves, but I think it is a legitimate interpretation of the sentiment. I try to perceive what is intended, not necessarily what I would choose. His face tells it.

  • Yeah, go Laszlo!! :)

  • Elves on XTC ^^

  • I love it! For all the people who say its too slow: why is it too slow? Is any of the character lost? The answer is no, in fact I think that the true character of the piece shines through at this speed.

  • This is my first time hearing it with orchestra accompaniment. Amazing agility..

  • the best bravissimo

  • it is too slow for the dance of the elves

  • @simonestar93 try to play it with whole orchestra without conductor, then say that it`s too slow :)

  • @simonestar93 For your taste it is probably too slow. But that is the actual tempo marking that Popper intended. A lot of cellists take it faster than that just to show off their virtuosity. In my opinion, its impressive at this tempo.

  • To me, it seems that solo has almost 2 of the same notes in a row on most of the piece, SOOOOOO if you cut off half the notes, then it doesn't seem as hard to learn I would think. NOt nearly as hard...HMMMMM!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • This is incredible!

  • amazing.. love how he can play each note so clearly

  • Laszlo, das ist wahnsinnig, wie du spielst! Wie machst du da nur???
