The "whatever happened to Ace" question was answered several weeks ago on the "Death of the Doctor" episode of The Sarah Jane Adventures. Now using her given name, Dorothy, she founded a charity named A Charitable Earth (ACE) with which has raised billions. The Tenth Doctor visited her and all other former companions during the events at the end of "The End of Time".

There are so many different semi-canonical versions of what happened to her... some sources say she and the Doctor had an argument, some people say she entered the Prydonian Academy, and some say she strapped a vortex manipulator to a motorcycle and started an independent time patrol... (obviously I like the last one best!)

I think that the Doctor did somthing to the gold coins to make them so deadly to the Cybermen. Otherwise it should have just bounced off. I like to think this to make the incident seem better. However, the alteration of the 80's Cybermen in theis story is my favorite design ever.

gold clogs their internal breathing apparatus originally; however its changed in this story so they drop when they come in contact with it; like a werewolf and silver. Probably the reason they discarded it as a weakness...eliminates predictability.

this is probably my favourite scene in silver nemesis. Other than the main fighting scene or when the cybermen & the nazis r discussing a treaty or something, the cyberleader uses some funny phrases.

They're allergic to Gold, it brings about both a deady reaction to what flesh they have as well as their cybernetics. It was their primary weakness throughout the Classic Series but discarded in the new series.

one of the best fight sequences in the show's long history, personally the gold thing is a little silly but i like it for this story because it works so well, the way the cybermen's guns actually fire makes the fight feel more dagerous especially with the sparks flying everywhere. i think silver nemisis does not deserve the bat wrap its received, which beive comes from 'purist complaining about the gold and that it didn't live up to aniversary expectations like 3/5 doctors did

I said it would sound daft , but i got abit of a Buffy-vibe from Ace when she used her Sling Shot , reminding me of Buffy with her Crossbow .

bullets can hurt cybermen if they are shot a lot in the chest piece (life support) but it usually only works with powrfull weapons such as an machine gun or a shotgun,

The Cybermen seem to be more characterized and more fearsome. I think there was something lacking in the "Earthshock" Cybermen.

These sequences are actually really well sot and lit, it's just a shame that the whole premise of Ace defeating a whole squad of cybermen with her catapult and gold coins is so stupid. Otherwise this would be one of the series' better-staged action sequences, with genuine suspense.
