  • inspired each time i watch.....one question: i love the mottled blue background, did you also create that? please teach us how if so. learing lots from You, thankyou.

  • Thanks for sharing!

  • it's really pretty!thank you for sharing...

  • you are so cute! and this is gorgeous!

  • WOW!!!!!!!

  • ti kwlogria einai ayth??xaxaxaxaxaxa!!

  • dude that's legit

  • You're very good, and your voice is very soothing too, like Bob Ross LOL

  • can this technique be used 4 Gouache colors too ?

  • So beautiful, I keep trying, but not succeeding with the beauty of your work. Thank you for the inspiration.

  • beautifull!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! <3:)

  • I wish I had ur talent because I can't even draw or paint:(

  • this is beautiful

  • Very Nice Roses! I'm doing this too, with horses at the moment!

  • @Amargantah: So really we all would like to know what is "real art"? Please elaborate for people like us who don't know what is the difference between art and real art, thank you :)

  • Wow, so pretty! You make it look so easy!! I tried to do it and started good, and then went bad LoL You have pretty art :)

  • So sorry for the bad expression :" is not art" I woul mean it's not the method I like to to art, I never wrote: she not talented, she not an artist. Why I don't like the one stroke way?because many people that want to express them and studying and making art, after see one stroke way says:I will not study the basic anymore(even just lights and shadows)because in O.S. it's more easy. They don't understand that even in O.S.(and in all art)there's sacrifice, study, passion and practicing.Sorry again.

  • I didn't express myself well.I know she's great an she's an artist, wonderful artist.I know really what the art is and noone could tell me to not express my opinion we live in free contries! If I hirt someone with my bad english, sorry, really.Isaw Marjorie web site,it's stunning, she was so kind with me,also if I was critical. Then I change my mind:what I don't like it's the method, the way,(one stroke way)not the artist and not her artworks, even those,in one stroke way are great in the result

  • From Bogotá, Colombia Marjorie, your videos are amazing, I am practice every day and I think I got the technique.

  • @Amargantah IF you're an artist you should know that decorating is a TYPE of making art o.O is she using a brush and some colors? is art. is pretty? is art!

  • Amargantah, of course its art. What is "real" art anyway - some highbrow nonsense for elitists? Look at the end result here - not any Jo could do this - this lady is very talented.

  • Hi - thanks for posting this. For some commenters, this is what it is, and there is nothing wrong with decorative art and more power to the people that make it. I actually am a fine artist, and I was trying to find a few good videos to get some techniques for painting roses in general, and this was helpful. Really prefer to not see some other more commercial presenters, so I was trying to find some other examples, and this one helped.

  • @Amargantah well u dont know the real meaning of art...awwww sorry..=) try to look around you..everything is an art..if your a real artist you must learn the real meaning of the so called "APPRECIATION" by the way..try to know the basics...try to refresh it..try to look back..

@MarjorieHarris your a real artist...you know to inspire us thank you i've learned a lot from you...=)

  • Amargantah......I think your negative comments are uncalled for. I think your "You don't even know what art is" comment is mean spirited! I wish I could be as talented as Marjorie....and I DO consider her an artist! Find another website to leave your poor choice of words!

  • @Amargantah Marjorie is an artist and a testament to that fact is most of us really like her work. I am skeptical however that you are an artist as you say you are. You don't even know what art is.

  • Comment removed

  • woow that was so amazing .. even while holding the laptop your paint still so bueatifull .. im a beginner in painting and this sure will help a lot thank you for sharing your talent

  • (for TsgtNan) Art is not on eyes, but in the mind of the univers and then in humanity (as above so below). I CAN have also MY opinion. Don't worry, she's great, but I don't like THIS techinc. I made my idea on the techinc not on her hability or talent as artist. Sorry for my bad english , but I'm italian, I hope it's clear now.

  • (for TsgtNan)Marjorie Harris and I had already speak on this, she (so sweet and kind person) told me: yes in this case is decorative and I use this method to be quickly. She explained to me that she paint also in other ways and that had push me to search more on her and the other artworks (always from her) are stunning. Not all the artists upload videos! Few of my drawings are in a web site, but this, if u can read, its on comments since 2 weeks!Nothing personal, I wrote, for u its personal!

  • So beautiful....I wish I could do that.

  • I'm an artist an this isn't real art, it's a good new and smart way to decorate, but painting it's an other thing!

  • @Amargantah

It's kind of offensive when one makes a comment that this is not "real art". Art is in the eye of the beholder.

If you are ar an artist where are your video tutorials to help those of that do not havethe training and/or talent.

My best friend is an incredible artist in all mediums and would never be negative about someone else's work

  • Hello, I'm using acrylic paint. Folk Art. I use lots of water. I do paint in oils sometimes and then I just use a lot of turp. and lindseed oil....to make it thin.

  • you are good:)

  • @kjetring ...thank you for looking.

  • are you using oil? if so what did you use to get your paint thinned out enough

  • @chargeboy I posted this above.... this is acrilic paint (Folk Art) but I also paint in oil. When I use oil I just use lots of Turp and Linsdseed oil Mix or any Oil Painting Medium.

  • Marjorie, how's it going? I was wondering,....I have an old 60's style metal coppery looking light shade. Recently, I spray painted it pink and white. Wasn't happy. Do you know, would some of the Jo Sonjia paint work for roses on metal?

  • Hi, I have found that Jo Sonjia All purpose sealer works great...of course you should follow the directions on the bottle, but I just sand things lightly...old paint...etc. put on the sealer, let it dry overnight...then paint...good luck. Marjorie

  • very peaceful video

  • Thats so smart.... I never ever thought of having different colours on different sections of my brush.. you made my jaw drop

  • Hi, Thanks for your compliments but I can't take credit for the idea of double and triple loading a brush...artists have done this forever. It's the way I do it that is my method...especially for roses. It's fun to see two different colors or tones come from your brush.

  • Amazing. I hope I can mimic this when I paint the roses on the piece I am doing.

  • interesting idea. i guess i would have kept making thin lines with each colour, your idea about using more colours on the brush is cool.
