Oh scusa...non son più entrata da allora su youtube, dunque ti rispondo adesso..si era mio nonno...e mi ricordo che era un via vai in casa di studenti che prendevano lezioni...e poi era divertente mi faceva sempre ridere...brutto poi per me quando scomparì...si rientrò dalla Germania in Italia ed io lo volli vedere per forza perchè non ci credevo...ed invece era vero..avevo sempre sognato di poter fare un duetto con lui, ma non feci in tempo...cose della vita....

Tuo nonno è stato uno dei grandi baritoni italiani. Nonché uno dei preferiti della mia insegnante... E si sente: la sua voce non è mai andata in pensione!!! :-) E non faccio nemmeno fatica a pensare che nonno eccezionale sia stato. Sì, Gino Bechi doveva avere una personalità prorompente come la sua bella, brunita voce.

faccio i complimenti. Mio nonno ha cantato molte opere con Bechi erano amici ed ho molte foto dove sono insieme, mia nonna altra cantante mi ricordava che era un gran signore elegante e mai fuori luogo. Ora ci siamo noi ma non mi sento nemmeno di paragonarmi a loro,mio nonno si chiamava De Santis Vittorio e ha cantato Otello più di 200 volte in molti teatri italiani. Hai delle registrazioni dove duettano? Mi farebbe piacere ascoltare

WOW! He still had it:) Must be in his 70's or even 80's(?) I don't remember when he died. Amazing how he held that one note forever! I was blown away with the first phrase he sang. The

voice was so rich, and the fullness still. His voice

could give you shivers. He had charisma. Did you

catch the spark in the eyes as he was singing. So sexy

he carried me away on a magic carpet in the clouds.

Unreal!! You never know what to expect when you see famous singers stand up when they're older and sing. But the first phrase out of his mouth absolutely floored me with the richness and beauty that any 40 year old baritone would envy, much less a man of 78!!

If I have heard correctly, Bechi sang this in 1992, about a year before his death in 1993. He lived to be a few months shy of 80, so he was probably 78 or 79 when he did this. Marvelous singing for any age!
