@SithLord229 FYI for your aussie viewers. they sell mail away figures in australian toys r us. they had at least a dozen of these rocket firing boba's in a sydney store. i couldn't afford to buy all of them. only bought 2. i'm now on the lookout for the white prototype boba's. ps keep up the good work.
I am a Star Wars fanatic and your reviews are great. I subscribed and I saw your updated collection and I use you as a reference to my parents to fulfill my collection. You should start making Star Wars video game level walkthroughs or just video a level at a time. Can I have your phone number so I can get an idea what to get at the store.
the original boba fett fig was supposed to have firing missile but the year b4 a kid choked on a battlestar galactica missile and so kenner didnt release him with firing missile out of fear of a kids death and possibly being sued if it did happen the prototypes however have the firing missile and go for thousands of dollars.
this is a sad story i will tel i had about $30 dollars and i bought 2 starwars figures thne i was down to $16 and then the rocket firing boba fett went down to $20 and the thing expired and then....out of luck for me i only had $16 left.
Love real vintage figures, for me at least, collecting vintage items is the center of the whole hobby, no star wars collection is complete without vintage items!
Kind of funny how part of the reason this toy is a big deal is because of its rocket-firing feature, but everyone is afraid to actually open the package and try it. For all we know, the rocket still doesn't work. :-p
Its quite comical that 'health and safety' has changed over the years and a toy I was stopped from buying as a child as I could have blinded myself on I can now buy as a 37 year old and blind myself as an adult with out any problems LOL. Id seen these going on ebay for quite high prices, I had no idea I could get one from toys r us, are they only available from the website or are they available in store?
Do you have or want the original 1980s version of this firgure? About how do they go for now a days? Lastly do you think the 2010 version will be that valuble in the future?
Oh, my god, this figures from 80's, get one if you're hard core starwars figure collectors. I only have a few figures from 90's, I will get a stormtrooper later.
There was an episode of Buffy the Vampire Slayer recently on the Sci-Fi Channel [ Thursday last week i think it was ] where Spike talks to these three complete morrons, and he threated to break the head of their Boba Fett figure, which he calls " Mr Fett " when noticing the name on a display stand, suggesting his never seen the Empire Strikes Back in his life, if they dont remove this Chip from his Brain which stops him from harming people.
Great video! My son is watching and he wants me to tell you he collects the LEGO Star Wars Lego. He said he has a huge collection and he likes your videos.
Was wondering if you were going to review this one...the best figure so far of the vintage collection. You only had to send in 5 UPCs by the way. I just picked up mine on EBay.
no actually the Shogun action figures were discontinued and Kenner was borrowing springs so they actually just scraped the idea after that and gave you that piece of bull crap note lying to you and not giving you the whole story. If you don't believe me check out micahc6v8's channel. He has a 6 video legacy of the true history of the figure telling the true story.
I opened mine, and I kinda regret it, but it's still cool having him displayed. I just wish his blaster was held better. :/ I tried, but I'm not very good at putting the elastic bands on to figures. :P
The issue started when Mattel made Battlestar Galactica ships with a small shooting missile. After one death and ten other injuries where reported Mattel recalled all there missile firing ships in January 1979,Kenner not wanting a lawsuit scraped the rocket firing Boba Fett a few months later.I still have the ships from 1979,mine where never turned back in.If you ever see one of the original missles from Mattel it looks just like the one used in the new Rocket firing Fett but they made it longer.
I have the original 1980s one!

kid choking with battlestar galactica toys , not with Gi-Joe or first Boba Fett launching missile. No boba fett missile leave the Kenner office.

Nice review.
Not to be rude or anything, but with the G.I. Joe thing, my dad used to collect figures, and he knew the whole story, So here is the real story:
Tons of people wanted the rocket firing boba fett figure, but some got delayed.
The first kid to order that figure, of course, got it first, and he fired the missile into his throat. And the kid chocked on it and died.
I was dissapointed to hear that.
Plus my dad got it too, and he was steamed when it arrived without the feature.
HE WAS MAD
