  • Great lesson! I love the little tabs illustration in the corner; very helpful.

  • great freakin video man!!

    awesome song also....

love the animation tabs by the way too.

  • thanks, this video really helped!

  • you're a friendly teacher :)

  • Maybe it's the sound of your guitar, but i think. at least with my guitar, that on the c7 bar chord, you should move the 5th fret fingers up a string.

  • if im using a classical guitar with nylon strings, should i tap instead of chug? because chugging kinda makes it sound messy. or i might be doin it wrong

  • i slap with classic and chug with electric

  • your an awsome teacher love the fact you like drinking empty cups of tea at the begining of this lesoson :P joke xx

  • Ya definitely a different d7, he explains it i believe

  • I just wish I could figure out how the hell he covers both E strings. Damn hard chord to learn.

  • Blitzkrieger, I think he's playing D7b (flat).

Thats why it sounds and looks different from a normal D7.

  • this helped me alot thanks make more videos! maybe some chili peppers or slightly stoopid

  • i dont understand the D7 tho... im looking at chord dictionaries and no D7 looks like that... im not good at music so maybe someone can explain to me

  • D7 is made up of the notes D, F#, A, C, so as long as you play those particular notes together, you have a D7, no mater which instrument.

  • ya my d7 does not sound good

  • oh man!!!!

    exellent lesson

    good job!

    thx man

  • great lesson for an amazing song

  • finally some good lessons

  • those are some tough chords. Good lesson

  • top notch

  • Wow, great teaching, like thoses images on the right side, help me a lot thanks again !

  • Thank you so much..good job. With the D7 i was having the same problem, but then i tried keeping the bar on the 3rd fret and making the D7 fingering. You have to have a loose bar so it mutes all the strings except the third forth and fifth strings. It sounds perfect.

  • cool mate

  • Hi! First of all I just wants to thank u for this lesson, simply great! I have one problem though, I can't get the D7 to sound good... I'm playing an acoustic guitar with nylon-strings, may that be the reason?

  • I have a acoustic guitar too.

It sounds too weird the D7. Yes, it's because of the strings...That's the reason, Im trying to mute some strings to better sound

  • thanks mate, will try that :D

  • Haha.. his leg was shakin' a bit...

    X)

  • your tutorial is the best! i mainly looked it up for the chords because all the tabs i see have the chords without the seventh note in (G instead of G7). thanks all the same

    Cheers!

PS if you get the money (say 200-220), there are two amps i recommend. they are both 30 watt (most likely) and they are a rely good practice amp (like if you just play at home, and its still really loud)

Line 6 Spider 3 (you could go for just the spider 2)

Roland Cube 30x (i love cube amps, they are so sturdy)

  • Thanks for the video, it helped a lot. =)

  • this was the most helpful thing i could find on this song thanks so much!

  • thanks. stop saying cool.

  • You did a great job ... This song is all over the place, Jack Johnson did like so many different techniques in one song ... You did a great job of putting it all together in your three videos without making any one too confused :)

    Jamie

  • Thank you so much! My nephew is visiting us and is very interested in playing the guitar! He has found a few websites that help him but you are by far the best thing he has found! THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!

  • thank you so much, i like so much this song! and your guitar class is really helping me...

that wolud be perfect if you show the all song to see how it sounds!

why don't you teach us "i got a angel" from jack? (that is a good one).

    Thanks from an argentinian friend!

  • thanks you so much man....you are really helping me.

  • nice

  • thanks a lot! :)

  • This was really quite helpful, but I don't get why there is a "B" in the D7. I thought a D7 was C,D,F#,A.

  • There is no B in a D7. That B would make it a D7 add13 I believe.

  • simply the best teacher online. keep em coming!

  • thank you so much your such a help!!

  • what other songs are easy to play? I literally don;t know anything about the guitar but I can play the intro to that song noe, except the bits inbetween the riffs of course.

  • HOW DO YOU CHUG ON A GUITAR!?! i can play it put the damn chugs are pissing me off...

  • in between where you need to "chug" just quickly with your left (or right) and depending on how you play, lay your hand thats on the fret board lightly across the fret board and just "chug it"

    :D hope that helped

  • thank you! i was wondering how to get that muted sound

  • he sure knows his chugs

  • Thank You So Very Much!!!

  • ur by far the best teacher ive seen online.

  • you wrote banNana

    with 2 N

  • dude ur movie helps alot thanx

  • rele rele helpful

  • for your riff go on the low E string and your chords are a little off

  • i really have a hard time baring all six strings at once any tips on how to do it or train your fingers or whatnot

  • Chupa meu saco gordim fdp

  • quality =]

    thanks

  • cheers mate real good fun

  • Thanks bro -you got it down! and it helps me out a lot.

  • what do you mean by chug? lol sorry for the dumb question :(

  • You have to mute all the strings and hit them.

  • chug = muted strum

  • oops, sorry, i need to stop commenting at 2am...

it's when he hits the strings to mute them

  • Thanks alot man! great lesson

  • i dont get the X on both the E strings, can anyone tell me what that means

  • mute the the E strings
