I just bought a ZX 14 Special edition. I had a 500 Ninja. the 500 was a good bike for around town and to learn on. But the 14 OMG it has brass balls and there is no hesitation when you throttle up. It is all there. MMMMM My fav bike and all my friends who have either sat on the 14 or rode it all agree it is a monster. I stand 5 foot 5 inches so it is also a penis extension as well.

The hayabusa handle better if ur goin to carve in the canyons. The zx14 is a bit faster but for the overall comfort the hayabusa wins. If your goin to drag race go wit the zx14 for sure.
I wouldn't start with anything more than a 600cc sportbike if new, they're MORE than fast enough to get ya in trouble... realistically it's a question of how "reasonable" you can be when riding. I survived the first bikes I owned, both Honda VFR750's and after many years and one not-at-fault accident eventually got back into riding, and bought a ZX14. Truth be told, I absolutely love it, but once in a while I wish I had a smaller, better handling bike. I NEVER use near what the 14 can do...
...on the street. The benefits of a "slower", smaller engine bike are two-fold; you have to work a little harder to make them go fast, which is good and teaches you how to ride better, and they're easier to insure, espeically being a new rider. They are better handling, and more forgiving in many respects... it's too easy to get caught up in the "newest/fastest" bike game... get something that excites you when you look at it and you'll enjoy it for years... move up when you're ready. :o)
Had a ninja 250 for 1 year, then got an R6. Gaurantee I wouldve crashed the R6 if I hadnt started on anything smaller. So far havnt even dropped either bike after 2 years. Im 18 now, so you know how young I was when I started riding.
Hi: The zx14 is a very nice bike, also the Busa is real nice bike, if you planing to do long drives the zx14 is a little more confi, is a more relax position for a long trip, arownd town both bikes are the same, but if you are a new driver please get a smol bike a 500 or less, please ride safe.
Very sweet ride! I got my special edition at the end of August and love it. I have had everything from thr CBR-600 to the mighty Hayabusa(which was a very nice ride indeed) but wanted to try the zx-14 and glad I did.

I'm not saying it because I own a 14 but its the most comfertable bike I have own yet. I'm 6'1 210 and I can ride for an hour and a half before having to pull over but thats just me. you gotta start moding the bike dude. like on my 08 zx14 i have, its the special edition too ironiclly, i go the license plate frame, tank pad, dark smoke windscreen, and i got a navagtion system installed, and imma do the exhusts next. but how did u do that burn out man? when i tried the bike started sliding to the sides to much. how do u hold it?

I've had mine since November 20th... But I live in Indiana and only have 200 miles on it. Can't wait for the snow to melt so I can get out some more. I'm going to get the yoshi r77 carbon cans for it now that they're out! Nice bike, keep the shiny side up!!
