Tbh, I think sometimes people try too hard to copy another drummer EXACTLY. When ever I coer a song, I learn the 'space' thjat I'm playing in (in this case, a really difficult and ever changing 'space') and then I just hit the drums however feels best to me, keeping important dynamics in mind.

If it sounds close and you threw in some of your own flavour, then you've overed a song successfully. I guess what I'm saying is, sometimes it's okay to just play a song the way YOU want to.

You took tbartels version of the verse in this song, also work on the hi-hat/bass polyrythym in the verse. Also Idk what happened after the 2nd verse but you got way out of time. Listen to the rythym Adam plays and try to keep the time constant. You may have good skill at your age, but thats not going to go anywhere if you can't stay in time. Also pay attention to the 5/8 polyrythym Danny plays during the 5/8 6/8 split. Rest sounds pretty good just keep working on it.

I've seen some great drummers in my time. I've watched a million live videos of some of the worlds best drummers and kid what you have is just pure un-adulterated skill! Keep playing and one day you will be absolutely up there with Danny and Vinny. You can see the skill this guy has when it comes to drumming, the only suggestion I have is to not stop doing covers but to practice what other drummers have done and learn from them! See what they have done creatively then try it yourself!

Dude Lateralus is crazy technical and you first had the balls to even attempt it then had the balls to upload it for the world to see, 11 years old and covering Tool?? Epic! You did a fantastic job, I'm a drummer and you'd blow my ass outta the water. Two suggestions: The drums overpower the song making it hard to judge your timing so maybe turn up the stereo a bit next time, and fine tune your rolling on the closed hat to make the timing a bit sharper. Ur gonna make it big dude, keep at it :)

honestly...his timing is out here and there yes....but mostly...his drums are not tuned to what he is playing....makes it sound like he is making more mistakes than he is....listen to the brass and the drums....his brass is on...but the drums simply need the right tone to them to sound right in most of it.

im astounded, this is a great cover. just some fine tuning and it'll be perfect. try and play the 5/8ths part during the break reallllly slow without the music until you're comfortable, then add it to the music. i know it's annoying and tedious but it's the only way to accomplish anything. again keep up the good work little buddy

I watched some of his videos,if I can give an advice,he really should start to learn seriously to play drums,he's lucky he started so young,but it's time he really study this great instrument, and play WELL ( =perfectly) easier songs,not this extremely hard and prog songs,that are far over his possibility, he's just wasting time!! If he manage to study well,in 3 years he can become a decent drummer, at so young age!! a semi-pro at 15 years old, but have to start seriously now, stop going nuts :)
