@kemdo123 next year, all the other ones will be released at 1 year intervals. return of the jedi will be released in 2017 because the 3d takes 1 year to convert from 2d
I remember hearing a lot of rumours when this movie came out. Everyone kept saying that it was in this movie where Anakin became Vader. I even remember when cereal boxes contained Attack of the clones toys. One of the toys was a 3D puzzle (kind of like the rubiks cube) with Anakin and Vader on it. In the trailer we even hear Vader's breathing. I think the purpose of that was to attract older viewers and obviously, make more money.
I Ep. II was my favorite movie in the prequel. The reason is because in my mind this is the only one with mystery in it. Ep 1. we knew Qui-Gon was gonna die and Anakin would become Obi-Wan's apprentice. Ep. III we knew Anakin would turn evil, Padme would die and have twins. But when i saw Ep. II i thought maybe Dooku was dead. A mystery behind the clones, and we see what triggers the evil inside of Anakin, the ones he loves. I just enjoyed not knowing.

Underrated film? Have you all gone mad? This was beyond crap. It was full of stupid melodrama that was not needed, and the acting of Christensen... Diabolical.
Very clever not showing any of pathetic fake hair and beard Obi shots makes the film seems appealing, even with Hayden Christensen who manages to come across badly even in a short trailer.
I also consider this my favorite of the films. ROTJ would have been so much better if Lucas would have stuck to his original plan and had it be Wookies, instead of the damn care bears.
Remember though that part of Sidious' plan was to have the Jedi become suspicious and distrusting of the Senate so that he eventually could find a way to paint them as villains who wanted to take control when they retaliate (which he manages to do after the assassination attempt)
True. I am not trying to correct you or anything I just want to be clear: You mean when they come to arrest him, not assassinate him right? They only fight back because he attacks them, correct? All though when he speaks to the senate, he calls it an assassination attempt. What you say does make the part with Dooku make more sense, thanks.
And sorry, meant to put assassination attempt in quotations to express what Palpatine presented the arrest as to the Senate. The only thing that kind of blurs that line was that towards the end Windu was really going to kill him, but that came off to me as a decision he made after experiencing how truly powerful/dangerous he was, and perhaps with a touch of influence from the Dark Side.
This was by far the worst of the prequels. Padme must have been one codependent bitch for her to marry awaken after he cock blocks himself into a hole.
What I like about "Episode II" is the presence of a mystery, that is not in any other episode. For entire movie you might be thinking "Who really ordered the creation of the clone army, who's that Tyranus? What for? Is Dooku really against the Sith? Why would separatists start the war?" And at the end there's just one scene where Dooku meets Sidious (who we already know is Palpatine), call each other "master" and "Darth Tyranus", and in a second you can understend the reasons behind everything.
@DanteGRossetti Some people are just too critical / have too high standards. I thought the Prequels were fine. There was only 1 scene in the prequels that I feel has poor dialogue / acting. other than that they're excellent!
@arsenalrulez1000 Um, how about the Coruscant chase scene? Or the Anakin/Obi-Wan/Dooku fight? Or the Yoda and Dooku fight? Or the introduction of Owen and Beru Lars? Or when Akain slaughters Tuskens? Or Obi Wan and Jango have that epic fight? Or the clone factory scene?

@EdwardNygma1 The chase scene was stupid, as disgraceful as it sounds even the podrace from TPM was better than that chase scene, the Anakin/Obi-Wan/Dooku fight was another TPM redo - they realised that Darth Maul could've picked up both his lightsabers when his double-hilt got sliced in half so put it in this film for Anakin and the fights were absolutely shit, the Lars introduction was pointless, Jango shouldn't have been in the film, factory scene was shit, but the Tusken slaughter was cool!!
@arsenalrulez1000 What the fuck are you smoking? How is the Dooku fight a Phantom Menace redo? Now you're just pulling shit out of your ass to hate on the film. The Lars introduction was interesting and added depth to the story. If Jango wasn't in the story half the story or more would be gone plus the absence of a character liked by many. Think about that. The factory scene was shit, just get out.
@EdwardNygma1 The Lars introduction wasn't interesting. No one cares about them. They died like in the first few minutes of ANH. In the Dooku fight Anakin could've easily cut his arm off when he was about to strike Obi-Wan, but I guess he doesn't have common sense. They could've introduced a whole new bounty hunter to rival Boba Fett rather than making a carbon copy of him, who could've been the clone. AND it has shitty dialogue: 'I hate sand. It's rough, course and it gets everywhere'.
@arsenalrulez1000 The Lars introduction was very interesting. Everyone likes the Lars. They're a very integral part of the first leg of Luke's story. They RAISED him. You're a bad OT star wars fan if you don't care about them. Uh, yeah, Anakin was recovering from being fried by Dooku's force lightning at that point so there wasn't much he could do. Most people love Jango Fett, so your argument is invalid, and idk what the fuck you're talking about with rival bounty hunters.
@EdwardNygma1 So what if they raised him. They had NO influence over Luke's life, they didn't really mean that much to him. He doesn't ever mention them again when they die. GL just needed some unimportant people to raise Luke that weren't his parents and THAT'S IT! That's also why they die so quickly. They were also preventing Luke from getting in touch with his Jedi heritage. If it weren't for their death the galaxy would still be under the control of the Empire.
@arsenalrulez1000 No influence? Wtf is wrong with your information? They shaped a lot of who he grew up to be. He was in their care for 19 years! He doesn't mention them in the films, but in the novels they are mentioned and the novels are expanded versions of the films and are in a lot of ways more canon than the films. To my memory they were in the film for a good 20-30 minutes. That isn't quick if you ask me. Yes, they kept him from being a jedi which kept him safe from the empire growing up!
@arsenalrulez1000 The dialogue was fine. The sand line was very clever and romantic of Anakin to say. It was very much in his character as he is young and sort of naive but very thoughtful and clever.
I tell you though, hating on the Lars's and saying no one cares about them. I think you're just a bad Star Wars fan in general.
@EdwardNygma1 That sand line sounded like something I would've written in a 4th grade poem. It's terrible, and sounds just like that 'angel' line from TPM. It wasn't in his character because he should've been a matured Jedi not acting like some random sleazebag off the street who's been in Jedi training for like 4 months. It would've made more sense if Padme was hitting on Anakin rather than the other way round. A love triangle between a younger Bail Organa, Padme, and Anakin would've worked
@arsenalrulez1000 No, it sounded like something that a young man who was shielded from a lot of social affairs from being a jedi and being around women all his life would say. It was very appropriate and very romantic. The angel line from phantom menace was also appropriate because HE'S A NINE YEAR OLD KID. Get real yo. He's not a fully matured jedi, that's a main plot point in the film, didn't you pay attention at all? And why would it be better if Padme was doing the flirting? Are you sexist?
@arsenalrulez1000 Because it really does sound sexist, which is ignorant and foolish. A love triangle between Bail Organa, Anakin, and Padme........A rival bounty hunter to Jango........you've said enough. Just stop replying. You're a terrible fan.
@EdwardNygma1 It's not sexist, it makes more sense. I think a Jedi Padawan would be more restrained than a Senator. The love trialge would reflect that between Luke, Leia, and Han in the originals, a NEW bounty hunter that doesn't look like Boba Fett rather than a rival. And no I'm not a terrible fan cos I know exactly what would make a good Star Wars film, and I'll keep replying for as long as I can.
@DanteGRossetti Completely agree, for me personally the only actor (in the second trilogy) that hit the mark every time was Ian McDiarmid, that man was truly awesome :)
People say "Phantom Menace" sucked, and while I agree to an extent, this one was easiy the worst of the series. It's seems like they put no effort in this movie, at least there was some effort put into "Phantom Menace."
Plinkett is right. The Clones should have been the bad guys launching a series of invasions, thus giving a purpose to the name "Clone Wars", and the Republic should have been forced to raise a conventional army of volunteers and conscripts to oppose them (thus giving purpose and believability to the rise of the Empire).
I wish George Lucas had involved more of his former collaborators in this trilogy, especially the writing. Lucas is NOT a writer, he's an idea guy... These films feel like they were filmed and written completely independently of each other, with the only goal being "well, Anikan has to be evil at the end." The only reason these movies seem cohesive is the cast, and they take place in the Star Wars universe.
No offense to anyone, but this is a terrible trailer. I've seen fan trailers 10x better than this. It doesn't do justice to Star Wars. I can't believe people were sold on this, but maybe George Lucas needed to come up with something worse than the actual movie so that when people saw the actual movie, they thought it was so much better. Just an idea...
I honestly think that I am the only one who actually likes this movie. It's one of my favorites. Although I do agree - as previously stated - that when Obi Wan tells Luke of the past, I have a different view of the 'prequels.'
@LiquidArmProduction to be honest I think that episode 5 the empire strikes back was the worst, it was so boring, you cant watch it more then twice ( in my opinion)
It's strange, everyone says The Phantom Menace was the worst. I think maybe this one was the worst, in TPM they at least favored a blend of all kinds of visual effects. In AOTC everything is CGI and it shows, and the acting/script is even lazier in this one. Either way, Lucas should have had a 2nd director to assist him or something (cough* Spielberg! *ahem) and with his money, a much better script/screenwriter. At least ROTS was alr... ah, why bother. The prequels failed. Should've been better.
Also, what made the original star wars films so awesome were the locations, miniatures and puppets. They were a million times better than shitty blue screen everywhere & CG looking aliens and ships. Yoda is perfect example. Theres a version of the prequels that exists in my head - one i created when i first heard about Anakin and the clone wars in a new hope. And I think most fans probably have a very similar version, where anakin was a pilot, and was admirable, and obi wan was his good friend.
@smalllions Yes, friends right! Why they had to show that Anakin was a failure from the start? Isn't the Dark Side so tempting? Why they had to make him a spoiled boy and feel like his going to loose his love to turn to the Dark Side? He should have turned for pure power seeking and selfish reasons... or anger... The only time on the movies that they really showed a Jedi really turning in to Dark Side was this crap. Luke "almost" gave himself to the Dark Side in combat frenzy... why George, why?
For me it didn't feel like a 'Star Wars' movie and I agree it was down to very poor writing. The three saving graces of the film was Liam Neeson, Natalie Portman and Ian McDiarmid, and he completely stole the film in 'Revenge Of The Sith'.
@LiquidArmProduction I agree Clone Wars was unbearable because we had to put up with a whole movie of Anakin whining like a little girl...Whining is what led him to the dark side >.>Although Jango Fett scenes and the final war was off the chain. Seriously I swear until Anakins eyes go yellow and he jedi hacksaws all those driodl eader guys I want him to lose another limb for being such a bitch.
The Phantom Menace was a better film than Attack of the Clones, thats not saying a lot though. Menace was a huge disappointment, but it did feel like an 'event' and it could have been rectified with a good sequel, but Clones was the ultimate nail in the coffin - I think the criticisms aimed at Menace kinda made the sequels worse, The hardcore fans wouldnt admit the whole film was pretty bad, were in denial and blamed jar jar, Lucas listened to that instead of the real problems, like script
@LiquidArmProduction BUT FOR PLEASURE ... I SEE NO REASON TO CRITICIZE THESE NEW FILMS FOR ME ARE MASTERPIECES AS MUCH AS THE FIRST THREE ... THE ATTACK OF THE CLONES IS A WONDERFUL FILM!
@LiquidArmProduction Why the fuck does this comment have so many negative votes...it's 10,000% true, and the only reason people think it 'feels' like a Star Wars film is cos they copied shit from the old films and put it in this one but a Star Wars film doesn't need the 'characters' from the originals to make it a Star Wars film, it needs the themes and emotions the originals delivered PERIOD!!!
@zeldfan1 If I remember well that bit of music is from Return of the Jedi Soundtrack. I think it comes from the song "The Forest Battle". I hope you find it.
@FilmTrailersChannel So, let's replace him with the twilight kid who is barely five feet tall, or better yet, let's replace him with the pale ugly dude, Yeah, that sounds like a good idea, NOT
@identitytheftguard Replace him with someone who can act, Jake Lloyd was another mistake Lucas made. There are so many inknown and known actors that could have played the part perfect of Anakin.
Anakin didn't have to be obnoxious. The way I see it - take out Qui-Gon Jinn and have it start off in Phantom Menace with Obi-wan training Anakin already. Anakin slowly turns elitist and sadistic. He fights with the right way and the wrong way of doing things. He really didn't have to be whiny. He could have been like the kid from the Omen or something, only nicer. know what I mean?
@ScottyMcGeester -- that's where you may fail 2 see the point. Anakin was not like the boy in "the omen". He wasn't a bad person, but a very naive individual who was easily manipulated by the power of the dark side because of the great fear and frustration he had inside. The dark side made him irrational and cruel, its not something that he was, Its something that he simply let himself become. the point of the dark side is once it takes a hold of you it controls you almost entirely...
Well, I never saw the Omen to begin with, so that was a bad example. I know where you're coming from. But I'm just saying, they could have easily given him a different personality other than being obnoxious and whiny.
@Siboneycamilo they never showed his transition properly though, He's a little goody goody in Menace then all of a sudden he's a dick in Clones, surely that period between films is the most important part? He basically shoulda been like luke but found the temptation of the dark side too great, it shoulde been subtle, not like the heavy handed retarded manner in which Lucas did it, he goes from saving padme, to murdering sand people, to decapitating people to rescuing people in an erratic mess.
What really killed this movie for me was the fact that Anakin was so obnoxious. I Understand that Lucas was trying to foreshadow Anakin's fall to the dark side, but he went way overboard. We never see Anakin as the great person & the good friend he was described as in the originals.
@fecxor Anakin was SUPPOSED to be obnoxious in this movie. He was a naive padawan. The great person and good friend that Obi-Wan was referring to is the Anakin that we see in the Clone Wars and the first half of Revenge of the Sith. After he matured a bit, he became a great jedi and friend.
I know I'm beating a dead horse, but let's face it George Lucas killed his own franchise. The romance was so cheesy that it almost hurt to watch. If it wasn't for Ewan McGregor's exceptional skills as an actor, Obi Wan Kenobi may have become a joke, rather than the legendary character made famous by Alec Guiness. Natalie Portman is as lovely as ever, but the script she was given to work with coupled with the amazingly wooden acting of poorly cast Hayden Christensen really hurt her performance.
The hate against the prequels is a bum rap. I haven't seen a bad Star Wars movie, well except for of course the one that shall not be named and has even been attempted to be destroyed by Lucas..
amzing film, best of star wars. my order Attack of the Clones The Clone wars The Phantom Menace Revenge of the Sith and the oginal arn't in any order yet.. i'll get there
Watch the Star Wars prequels with Rifftrax. You'll laugh your asses off and see the prequels for the shit that they really are.
I mean, look at how whiny and indecisive Anakin Skywalker is. He is like the worst Star Wars character since Jar Jar. lol. And the so-called charisma between Hayden and Natalie is TERRIBLE by any standards.
@LukeLovesRose - Yeah theres a ton of frustrating crap in the prequels. Shame as there are 'some' good moments in all 3 of them, but theres a lot of terrible dialogue, boring scenes with the senate etc when most people just want action. Just hurts me to see some of those scenes with terrible dialogue by Lucas.
@LukeLovesRose if you don't fkn like it don't watch it!! There ARE people who love the prequels, and any REAL star wars fan will know that every movie is great in its own way, any REAL fan would also know that the only reason people hate the prequels is cause they're not the originals. If this trilogy had been made first, eps 4, 5 and 6 would be hated.

If it weren't for their death the galaxy would still be under the control of the Empire.
arsenalrulez1000 3 months ago
@arsenalrulez1000 No influence? Wtf is wrong with your information? They shaped a lot of who he grew up to be. He was in their care for 19 years! He doesn't mention them in the films, but in the novels they are mentioned and the novels are expanded versions of the films and are in a lot of ways more canon than the films. To my memory they were in the film for a good 20-30 minutes. That isn't quick if you ask me. Yes, they kept him from being a jedi which kept him safe from the empire growing up!
EdwardNygma1 3 months ago
@arsenalrulez1000 The dialogue was fine. The sand line was very clever and romantic of Anakin to say. It was very much in his character as he is young and sort of naive but very thoughtful and clever.
I tell you though, hating on the Lars's and saying no one cares about them. I think you're just a bad Star Wars fan in general.
EdwardNygma1 3 months ago
@EdwardNygma1 That sand line sounded like something I would've written in a 4th grade poem. It's terrible, and sounds just like that 'angel' line from TPM. It wasn't in his character because he should've been a matured Jedi not acting like some random sleazebag off the street who's been in Jedi training for like 4 months. It would've made more sense if Padme was hitting on Anakin rather than the other way round. A love triangle between a younger Bail Organa, Padme, and Anakin would've worked
arsenalrulez1000 3 months ago
@arsenalrulez1000 No, it sounded like something that a young man who was shielded from a lot of social affairs from being a jedi and being around women all his life would say. It was very appropriate and very romantic. The angel line from phantom menace was also appropriate because HE'S A NINE YEAR OLD KID. Get real yo. He's not a fully matured jedi, that's a main plot point in the film, didn't you pay attention at all? And why would it be better if Padme was doing the flirting? Are you sexist?
EdwardNygma1 3 months ago
@arsenalrulez1000 Because it really does sound sexist, which is ignorant and foolish. A love triangle between Bail Organa, Anakin, and Padme........A rival bounty hunter to Jango........you've said enough. Just stop replying. You're a terrible fan.
EdwardNygma1 3 months ago

The clones are EPIC!!!!!!!
RockysToys 6 months ago
Plinkett is right. The Clones should have been the bad guys launching a series of invasions, thus giving a purpose to the name "Clone Wars", and the Republic should have been forced to raise a conventional army of volunteers and conscripts to oppose them (thus giving purpose and believability to the rise of the Empire).

I wish George Lucas had involved more of his former collaborators in this trilogy, especially the writing. Lucas is NOT a writer, he's an idea guy... These films feel like they were filmed and written completely independently of each other, with the only goal being "well, Anikan has to be evil at the end." The only reason these movies seem cohesive is the cast, and they take place in the Star Wars universe.
jackytreehornn77 8 months ago
The Film could've been executed much better if they put more emphasis on Anakin and Padme's Build up to their love, and the Clone War battle.

MaybeYesNo90 11 months ago
Also, what made the original star wars films so awesome were the locations, miniatures and puppets. They were a million times better than shitty blue screen everywhere & CG looking aliens and ships. Yoda is perfect example. Theres a version of the prequels that exists in my head - one i created when i first heard about Anakin and the clone wars in a new hope. And I think most fans probably have a very similar version, where anakin was a pilot, and was admirable, and obi wan was his good friend.
smalllions 11 months ago
@smalllions Yes, friends right! Why they had to show that Anakin was a failure from the start? Isn't the Dark Side so tempting? Why they had to make him a spoiled boy and feel like his going to loose his love to turn to the Dark Side? He should have turned for pure power seeking and selfish reasons... or anger... The only time on the movies that they really showed a Jedi really turning in to Dark Side was this crap. Luke "almost" gave himself to the Dark Side in combat frenzy... why George, why?

@FilmTrailersChannel Call me crazy but at least with the phantom menace I felt like a least they tried.
Don't get me wrong I think the movies is bad but certainly not terrible.
I'll say it again the Phantom Menace wasn't bad because of Jar Jar Binks it was bad due to poor writing
LiquidArmProduction 1 year ago
@LiquidArmProduction Your crazy :)
For me it didn't feel like a 'Star Wars' movie and I agree it was down to very poor writing. The three saving graces of the film was Liam Neeson, Natalie Portman and Ian McDiarmid, and he completely stole the film in 'Revenge Of The Sith'.
FilmTrailersChannel 1 year ago
@LiquidArmProduction I agree Clone Wars was unbearable because we had to put up with a whole movie of Anakin whining like a little girl...Whining is what led him to the dark side >.>Although Jango Fett scenes and the final war was off the chain. Seriously I swear until Anakins eyes go yellow and he jedi hacksaws all those driodl eader guys I want him to lose another limb for being such a bitch.

@FilmTrailersChannel I kinda liked the phantom menace (Opinions) but this film to me was just abysmal (Again with the opinions)
kingofburnttoast 10 months ago
The Phantom Menace was a better film than Attack of the Clones, thats not saying a lot though. Menace was a huge disappointment, but it did feel like an 'event' and it could have been rectified with a good sequel, but Clones was the ultimate nail in the coffin - I think the criticisms aimed at Menace kinda made the sequels worse, The hardcore fans wouldnt admit the whole film was pretty bad, were in denial and blamed jar jar, Lucas listened to that instead of the real problems, like script
smalllions 11 months ago
@LiquidArmProduction BUT FOR PLEASURE ... I SEE NO REASON TO CRITICIZE THESE NEW FILMS FOR ME ARE MASTERPIECES AS MUCH AS THE FIRST THREE ... THE ATTACK OF THE CLONES IS A WONDERFUL FILM!

lordvoldemort578 9 months ago
@LiquidArmProduction Why the fuck does this comment have so many negative votes...it's 10,000% true, and the only reason people think it 'feels' like a Star Wars film is cos they copied shit from the old films and put it in this one but a Star Wars film doesn't need the 'characters' from the originals to make it a Star Wars film, it needs the themes and emotions the originals delivered PERIOD!!!

ScottyMcGeester 1 year ago
@ScottyMcGeester -- that's where you may fail 2 see the point. Anakin was not like the boy in "the omen". He wasn't a bad person, but a very naive individual who was easily manipulated by the power of the dark side because of the great fear and frustration he had inside. The dark side made him irrational and cruel, its not something that he was, Its something that he simply let himself become. the point of the dark side is once it takes a hold of you it controls you almost entirely...
Siboneycamilo 1 year ago 2
@Siboneycamilo
Well, I never saw the Omen to begin with, so that was a bad example. I know where you're coming from. But I'm just saying, they could have easily given him a different personality other than being obnoxious and whiny.
ScottyMcGeester 1 year ago
@Siboneycamilo they never showed his transition properly though, He's a little goody goody in Menace then all of a sudden he's a dick in Clones, surely that period between films is the most important part? He basically shoulda been like luke but found the temptation of the dark side too great, it shoulde been subtle, not like the heavy handed retarded manner in which Lucas did it, he goes from saving padme, to murdering sand people, to decapitating people to rescuing people in an erratic mess.

What is the music called that is used in the trailer?
fatbella1000 1 year ago
What really killed this movie for me was the fact that Anakin was so obnoxious. I Understand that Lucas was trying to foreshadow Anakin's fall to the dark side, but he went way overboard. We never see Anakin as the great person & the good friend he was described as in the originals.
fecxor 1 year ago
@fecxor Anakin was SUPPOSED to be obnoxious in this movie. He was a naive padawan. The great person and good friend that Obi-Wan was referring to is the Anakin that we see in the Clone Wars and the first half of Revenge of the Sith. After he matured a bit, he became a great jedi and friend.
SilverAxe13 1 year ago
I know I'm beating a dead horse, but let's face it George Lucas killed his own franchise. The romance was so cheesy that it almost hurt to watch. If it wasn't for Ewan McGregor's exceptional skills as an actor, Obi Wan Kenobi may have become a joke, rather than the legendary character made famous by Alec Guiness. Natalie Portman is as lovely as ever, but the script she was given to work with coupled with the amazingly wooden acting of poorly cast Hayden Christensen really hurt her performance.

I mean, look at how whiny and indecisive Anakin Skywalker is. He is like the worst Star Wars character since Jar Jar. lol. And the so-called charisma between Hayden and Natalie is TERRIBLE by any standards.
LukeLovesRose 1 year ago
