I am having way too much trouble getting it to start. I adjust and adjust the cylinder but it never seems to reach a magical place where the gears "spin freely". The guide also gives no instruction, it just says to adjust the screws until you get it.
What height are you putting the screws at? How wide should the spacing between the two brass pieces that contain the spring be?
As long as you are trying and looking, you may discover something new. Every application seems to have some benefit that the others dont. Think of all the people who are new to this! Do they want a confusing display early on?
My physics teacher told me some time ago that these stirling engnes are used at power plants, which have a big head output, so one can use the heat that would normally go through the chimney to produce electricity.

you didnt know that stirling engines require a heat source! hahahaha. youve seen "so many" of them yet you were ignorant to that fact. go back to watching your cheeseburgers and cartoon porn you idiotic, fat, lonely, virgin
i know that they require heat i just didn't know he meant that heat was the "fuel". why are you such an asshole? do you actually have any friends in real life? as for my virginity, i'm only 15 jack ass and i've never met anyone in my whole life who expects every 15 year old to have had sex already.
pay $120 for something that waste fuel and make an LED barely flcker. I mean its cheaper to just by a breadboard a 555timer and a LED, and its brighter X D
That's great, you can use a candle to power an engine which generates electricity which in turn powers an LED which emits light....Kind of like a solar powered torch. =P
was this project hard to build? I've always wanted to have one of these. I will check into them. What is the gakken website? guess google shall tell me
Thankyou and if you guys are not even smart enough to notice that my first comment wasnt " I was first, haha u all suck" well mabey you should go check your eyes, im not the only one that said it, yet u get all pissed at me o

How is it possible to let this drive? I mean, as soon as you take it of the stand you can't heat the glass cylinder anymore. Am I missing something?
Ni5ei 2 months ago
you should make it charge a battery and then flick a switch and it will light up a L.E.D.

it runs on fuel? what a piece of shit. every other Stirling engine i've ever seen runs off of air.
ishouldplayzelda 2 years ago
every stirling engine needs a source of heat/cold,
he's just supplying the heat
iwan0t0smith 2 years ago 3
so.............the heat he's talking about is "fuel" which isn't really fuel.
