Whats the purpose of the valve stems on the exaust pipe? I googled it, and nothing comes up....

Is it for the noise, the looks, to know that the engine is runing (not :)), or just to have them?

Cause if it is for the sound, I'll put some in my car for sure ;)

No purpose of the valve stems on the exhaust. On Motorcycles, at the end of the exhaust we use a "Loli Pop" which is a washer on the end of a screw or an eye bolt. This has an anti-reversion deal. Too long to explain anti-reversion, so you'll have to look that up.

Water droplets form in the exhaust. One valve stays open for a bit at a certain point  when the piston is at TDC. (overlap) At Low RPM the droplets are "sucked" back through into the motor causing rust and poor performance. It's found that baffles or something like a loli-pop prevents this.

I can tell you tat car looks better than mine but I also havent done much to mine since I bought it other than little odds and ends trying to get it more driveable.. trying to strip all the bondo and spray can primer off it to get it straight atm.. only so much you can do when you arent working tho
