That is going to suck when you do it on floor. Your not spotting your landing at all> i'm working them and you realy need to open out and roll for 1 3/4 and go alot higher for doubles. Stand up straigter at the beginning, it will help.
@ilikepie9519 Yep. I've improved a lot since then. I've been competing the 1 & 3/4 for over a year now. Still don't have enough height for a good double front though.
in the front 1 and 3/4 you need to look for floor out of the front tuck before rolling, then you'll be able to anticipate the open and roll out smoothly, from the looks of the video, your just opening out from air sense and hoping you land right
I'm not sure. I'd like to see how well you can do a front tuck on floor first. When you say you can land it onto 4 crash mats do you mean you can barely make it or you can actually open up and stand it up well enough that you could do another flip out of it?
im going to try it when i go to a gym in about 5 weeks. ive done it from a 3 step run up off a springboard (that doesnt have any springs in it :S) and made it easily past my neck. comment back if you think i'll die. btw, after watching this a few times, there is literally no difference between these two skills right now. looks like the doubles slower but has a tighter tuck. idk though.
Yeah, they aren't very different in this video. I opened to late on the first and too early on the second. I've done some that are better, but didn't get video.
I'm finally back in the gym as of yesterday! Expect some videos in the weeks to come.
Punch up more!!

How old were you when you started gymnastics and did it make you short?

@jrk987 I started when I was about 11 years old. I'm 6 feet tall now, so I don't think it stunted my growth too much.

I tried this for the first time off our tumble strip quite recently; I landed on my back but i think I opened too early. I hope to land it soon :)

Do you think I could start working on these? I have a good feel for them on a trampoline and I can land a front tuck onto 4 crash mats.
