Thank you! This is "hands down" one of the best informational videos that I have ever seen! It was clear, concise and informative. Also, a big "paws up" to Daisy for being such a good model.

You can't just run the Furminator (and Shedender I assume) down the length of the dog! You have to use short strokes. It isn't the same as a regular brush.
I've been using the shed ender for a few years now, and it's amazing. I'm thinking about trying out the furminator just to see how it works, but the shed ender rules!
Very thorough experiment. I just bought the large FURminator on EBay, brand new, free delivery for $12.50. My Corgi sheds like crazy and I am eager to get the new tool and go to work.
I've tried both and it does seem like the furminator gets off more fur. But it isn't worth paying double or more, I don't think. They both work pretty well. You can get the furminator in larger sizes, which I don't think is available for the shedender. Thanks for posting the video, though, it was informative.
what i figure from looking at the pictures. shedender came out 1st and furmanator came out second. i think furminator just took out the brush part of the shedender and placed it on a new handle and called it the "FURminator" and decided to charge $20-$30 more.
I bought a Furbuster (cat size) at Walmart last weekend. It works well for removing undercoat on my Icelandic horses. I didn't wash them first and still worked well. They enjoyed the grooming with it. The Furbuster seems very much the same product. $14.00 (thanks for showing the close ups)
I have seen the products on sale for quite a bit of money here in the states too. I've seen $35-$40. But, I've also found them cheaper - like $16-$20, must shop around.
I have used the furminator a few times after this experiment - which was hastily put together. I didn't buy these, they were loaned for the experiment. I thought I would like it but I have also had better luck with a slicker and a rake. The teeth on the Furminator and ShedEnder are so small and narrow... it's not really time effective because you have to make so many passes to get the entire dog brushed. Between the 2 products I'd still pick the furminator over shedender.
Try a flea comb, you'll be surprised how quickly and effectively the comb works. I'll have to post a video, but unfortunately I won't be able to compare it to the furminator, since I no longer own one.
I have tried the furminator. I'll stick to my flea combs. Furminator doesn't take alot of loose fur, but my flea combs will take bigger globs of loose fur and it costs only a small fraction of the furminator.
I returned the furminator and got my money back. It definitely was not cheap, going for 49 Euros here in Germany. I would not recommend it.

Wouldn't work for me. Just like the box cutter I have and can't use, b/c it was designed for a right-handed person.

@vickiormindyb actually it has instructions on how to adjust the shedender for left hand use.

ok, this is how it goes:
Furminator: $40
Shed-ender: $10
For the slight increase in performance that the furminator offers, it's not worth it

@LADYnONYX The FURminator that you were holding is meant for cats, or so I was told on Amazon.
