The first part of the song where Russ duets with larnelle in the chorus is from this concert. Once Russ slips into the solo, it's from a concert from the mid 80's shortly after he left the imperials. When he comes back in for the second chorus he isn't really doing anything, and once the key change comes in, it's somebody "doing" Russ for about 30 seconds, until the start editing in some actual Russ tag sections from that 80's concert again, the same one where they grabbed Russ's solo.

I was also at this taping. From the time Russ walked in late, carrying a tall mug of something, to the time when two of the gentlemen came and took him by the arms and quietly removed him from the stage. I was sitting up close on the side where Russ was. It was difficult to concentrate on the others singing. My friend and I sat there not believing what we were seeing. I love Russ and pray that he get help for whatever is troubling him. RUSS WE LOVE YOU!

Yep, this is some serious editting. I was at that concert, and Russ was not himself. I discussed this with some ladies after the concert, it was obvious Russ was having problems. The clip editted in is an old clip of Russ, probably from when that song was first released. I wondered whether they would do anything, because his performance that night was not his best. I do love that everyone came in and stood together with him. Russ is such a wonderful singer and person, I love him.

Russ has recently admitted to some "problems", apparently in the subtance abuse department, in his past. In this video he clearly is intoxicated or otherwise chemically impaired, not sick. Watch his stammering gait onstage for starters.

Russ had to be sick, he hardly sung anything on this video and there was another video addited in this one to make the whole song.

Still, he has a great voice and i hope he's better now.

What happened to Russ on the duet with Larnelle? That was not his voice. I know that was him on the second verse but that was from a diffrent voice.I do not understand why they would overdub his voice.

Trust me I know Russ Taff's voice and that is not russ taff's voice. I have the dvd this song is on and I have watched it several times and is not his voice. I think he may have been sick because he dissappeared after The Imperials sang.

I watched the dvd again with my stepmother last night and she thought the same thing. I will agree the video that you have does have russ taff singing the second verse but that is from the early 90's or late 80's but it cuts back to the present at the end but one thing we can agree is that russ is still one of the all time greats and i think is under appreciated by the Gaither crew.
