Mark Knoplfer's genius is how he tells songs and plays with such virtuosity. The true tale of the Mason-Dixon line is the settling of a long border dispute between the Penns and the Calverts of Maryland. The relatively"green" British astronomer Mason and surveyor Dixon were hired by the British Royal Society to complete the job as the Colonial surveying team did not have the technical ability. Four laters after hellish weather and fear of hostile indians, the job was completed. Amazing song.

I worked at Capitol records when I heard the first piece of vinyl ever produced by Dire Straits. It was on my line, and after hearing the record in the Quality Control room, I told the girls that I walking out of my night shift at 7 am with that very first record, and if anyone wanted to fire me, go for it. It never happened, and I left the Virginia plant with the very first pressing-the very first RECORD of the pressing...in my hands! My fellow mechanics thought I was completely out of my mind.
