Kebu - Requiem for a Dream (Roland D-50 demo)

D-50's are often on eBay, whether working or parts/fixers. This is the first time that I have heard one as an example. Hasn't crossed my mind, I dream of Arp Axxe and Odyssey and the Oberhein OB-- and Matrix series.

As a multi keyboardist and collector dating back to the mid 70ies, this just takes it so much further! Especially on this classic Roland synthesizer. I will always associate the D-50 with Jarre's Revolutions record. Very characteristic. But man, you also gave this old piece of machine justice with this track. Really amazing, especially when the lead comes on. Just wicked. Thanks for sharing. And do release stuff and keep us informed!!

@countach That is most likely cause Jarre used Roland D-50 heavily on the revolutions album and many of the sounds were presets from expansion cards.

I'm happy to have helped two people get their D-50s up to working order with spare parts and keys after watching this, what a nice machine! Great work

The PG units help a whole lot, though finicky at times it's all in the direct action and tactile feedback, reached without turning away from the keys and looking into a screen.

Indeed ... we need a much longer version of it.. I love this tune and love the videos you are making. I have probably said it before but I reiterate: these tunes really deserve a proper release on cd. I would be a tribute both to your musicianship AND the instruments involved.
