It's an instrumental version of "Love Train". Supposedly Michael Jackson owned the rights to the original song at the time the set was under development, and wanted $50,000 for a license to use the real thing, so a cover band version was used instead.
I do like this but the whole train is missing alot of features The engine does have the giant wheel on it "that doesn't move mind you" On the train in the coors light commercial compared to the mth model, The MTH Model is missing the Bad Ass Tender Along with Passenger cars that were seen in the other coors light commercials
According to an interview in one of the O-gauge magazines, Coors intended the engine to be a cross between a steam engine and a snowmobile. As for passenger cars, I don't recall seeing anything in any of the ads that would have suggested them. Are there commercials posted anywhere that make this obvious?
@RailRide I understand that But if you look in the first commercial video of The Coors Light Silver Bullet and when it comes out that improvised tunnel you can see it has a Tender and a Hidden passenger car
I'm sure there are--the trick is finding the right search terms to filter out the hundreds (thousands?) of commercials that don't feature the train :)
@RailRide I forgot what I looked it up under (And It shown on the Television a couple of times) but there is a commercial where the Silver bullet is seen going by but you catch a Glimpse of the Locomotive, the Tender and one or two of the cars. then there was another one (that aired on television) where a few people were waiting at a train station then the silver bullet came and you get a glimpse of the engine, Tender, and the High Tech passenger car.
Enter "30-1433-1" in the 'Product Search' box, and click on the bolded product number for the set under the Results display, to bring up the set's catalog page.
On the top of the catalog page click the icon labeled "Find It!". This will bring up a list of dealers that have the set listed as being in-stock (as per periodic updates they send to MTH). You should then be able to locate a dealer in your region that still has a set.
Trivia: The rights to the actual "Love Train" music belonged to Michael Jackson. Getting a license to use the actual song cost too much, so a cover band was used to record an instrumental "kind-of-sounds-like-it" version.
I'm guessing you meant why *didn't* the end car open. If that's the case, then it was after I bought two extra cars that I read that the feature wasn't considered reliable beyond four cars. The first four would respond, but the fifth one may or may not react. The sequence is initiated and controlled by the locomotive itself, so I don't know what could be done about it.
Those issues went away when I bought out our landlord and became the property owner.
As for a wife--well, those shots of the trains running behind the couch are what I call the "Proof I'm Single" shots :) Anyone looking to change that status knows right up front that the trains were here first and aren't going anywhere.
It's the train from the Coors Light (beer) advertisements over here. If you go to coorslight(dotcom) and click on "Ads" you'll see it rush past at the end of each commercial.
The train was an often-requested model for both Coors and MTH. A chance meeting at a merchandising convention set the model project iin motion.
I wonder whats the music called.

Go to the MTH website, use the "Product Locator".
Enter "30-1433-1" in the 'Product Search' box, and click on the bolded product number for the set under the Results display, to bring up the set's catalog page.

This train is so ugly but yet cool at the same time

I can't verify it, but I could have sworn I saw the MTH version in an actual Coors commercial, flashing by at the end instead of a CGI version.

Thanks the correction I'am not the best speller... I plan on buying it soon, I was woundering if there is a car limit or a defective car. Thanks....

I have 6 cars on my train and they open fine. In fact I just ordered another car
beatletrainfan129 2 years ago
The effect isn't guranteed to work beyond four cars. Therefore it's a roll of the dice whether or not extra cars beyond that point will work.
RailRide 2 years ago
Why did the end car open when the others did
bigsteam5344 3 years ago
The music is part of the bell recording.
RailRide 3 years ago
Trivia: it's a cover band version because it cost too much to license the original 'Love Train' (reportedly 50 grand)
RailRide 3 years ago
Wow, music plays while the bell rings!
