  • U cute

  • hi can you help me? im going to japan as an exchange student i know some of the basics but do you have to no alot of japanese? and do they put you with a host family that knows some english oh and im in grade 8

  • @bokuragaita26 no idea what grade 8 means, haha. oh well. Best to ask such things to your organization which sends you. AFS here is Belgium told me I did not need to be able to speak japanese on beforehand and that I could be placed in any sort of family. Good luck!

  • @Mesqueeb thank you

  • Comment removed

  • Why is it that every blog regardless of nationality, have trouble with their host family?

  • @I also had problem with my host family( they had a completely wrong idea of how a exchange student should behave + do) . Biggest bitches I've ever met. I don't know why.. The second family was awesome though. I went to Argentina.

  • nice thanks!! XD

  • Wow. Did anyone else catch that the 合唱組曲 was playing? Ftw!

  • @TerumiYuuki16 Definitely try and be able to make some sort of exchange once you go to University then! ^^ Good luck!

  • @TerumiYuuki16 Well I did a high-school cultural exchange, this means I lived in a host family, was fairly young, ofcourse I could not attend any jobs, for that was not the purpose of the cultural exchange, and so on.

This is so different from anything related to University Exchanges.

With AFS you can only go until you are 18, and you get a host family and all your basic needs. So you don't need money besides the fees you pay to AFS. For more info you can ask it here: afs.org

  • @TerumiYuuki16 No Loan >,< You need to pay.

  • well...the easy way of learning japanese is to just move there ! after awile of hearing it everyday you kind of know thats how i learn ! Greetings from Japan !

  • awesome have u heard of people to people that is my exchange student program n i am hoping to go to japan this summer as an exchange student.

  • i like the part that you said i'm spiderman. it funny haha

  • I plan on going to Japan next year when im in 10th grd. I'm just afraid that I might get homesick being away from home a year. How long did it take for u to get use to it?

  • @branaka207 dont b afraid of going cuz ur homesick. Its important to do awesome stuff like go to school in japan, while your young. Dont run from good! You should be more worried about regretting not going to Japan when your older.

  • funny!

    you looks like ウエンツ!!

I want to move to Japan and finish my two years of high school there. the problem is, I can only understand Japanese and not really speak back in Japanese. So, I want to know how you survived there and if you know anything like if a foreign student moves to Japan and cant speak much and what classes they have to take. thanks ^^;

  • lol nice looking walls behind not bland at all

  • lol nico douga background music

  • you talk so funny, hehe

well i have a question..when you went to japan, you knew japanese?or you took classes in japan?

i really wanna go as an exchange student in japan too, thats why i wanna find out more

    Thank you!

  • I couldn't speak much Japanese at all, just some basic words. But AFS does not require you to be able to speak the language. Other programs maybe do, but I don't know. Good luck!

  • Hare Hare Yukai ^^

  • hey, with AFS were can u acess it? I thought is was for Austraila only, not belguim or other contries?(sorry for crap spelling)

  • AFS is global.

  • @Mesqueeb How much was AFS, PLZ answer me back. Thank you. V_V ^_^

  • I love you x3 you're cute.

  • Hey I really want to become a exchange student. Besides the passport that cost, what else would I have to pay for? I don't have much money but I have a friend in Osaka, Japan. And he invited me to stay with him and his wife. What's your advice?

  • Going abroad privately funded depends a lot on your situation there... First find out if you will pay your host family you found (your friend) and how much that is monthly, if it includes 3 meals a day and so... if not ask someone living alone how much it costs to live alone on the area of food and similar expenses... I don't have that much of a clue since I just paid a lot to AFS for a whole year, and everything was took care of for me. ^^ But good luck!

  • honto omoshiroi!!! You rule!! Lucky , i wish I could study in japan to!! That ojshii shocolado , bulgaria shocolado ... haha!!!! in so typical japanese accent!!! you had a wery tanoshii jikan there nee...lucky...jealous of you...mooo watashi mo nihon ikkitai ga hoshii!! (maby wrong)

  • Yes indeed, one of the 44 mixed songs is from Suzumiya Haruhi.

  • You're funny. You've got an odd name; Flemish?

  • cast a spell weasley

  • Alright Timmy o maley! What do yee want me to cast?

  • quite cute : D (the bakground song)

  • Nothing...Just a little 'overdone' in my opinion. So you used AFS? I'm thinking about going for a year in March 2010 and am stuck between YFU and AFS.

  • I would advice trying to go to info-days from both. See which one fits you best by getting involved with both at once. And then make a decision. ^^

    Yes we can!

  • lol..weren't you embarrassed with the first part of this video?

  • why would I be embarrassed?

  • im sorry, but i just HAD to say this, from looking at the miniature picture when i see your video, you look SO like a rickroll xD nah, sorry for that one, but your videos rock, keep up the good work :D

  • awesome 1 year .. have you felt home sick yet lol ??? I herd that parts of japan are racist is it true ??

  • I haven't been homesick yet. xD I love Japan.

I don't know about other parts of Japan but I have, since I came here, have not met or felt ANY form of racism! As far as I know, most Japanese people I met think foreigners are very interesting!

    Cheers to that!

  • hey!

  • were you watching Haruhi Suzumiya?

and how long do Exchange Students stay in Japan?

  • I love Suzumiya Haruhi, but what do you mean with "Were you watching" ? You mean as I was making the movie? In that case no... Or at what time were you implying that I would have been watching Haruhi Suzumiya?

How long exchange students stay in Japan depends on what exchange program you are using. With AFS you can stay for either a year or a half year. That is only for the school-life program, there are other AFSprograms as well...

    Yarrrr!

  • i meant were you watching Haruhi Suzumiya While You Were Filming The Video!!

  • lol.. your cuttee!! so how was japan ?? which part are you at ???

  • Why thank you! ^^

I am currently living in Aichi-prefecture, Okazaki.

    23 Aug 2008 -> 19 Jul 2009

  • aww your so cute <3!!! I love your hair + the fact your from Belgium =D!! im sorry you werre having problems with your host family. I was hosting a student form China and she felt the same way and ended up switching families. I wish she wouldnt have though becasue we really wanted her here ... but oh well, Im glad your doing better and enjoying japan!!

  • wow, u have a cute accent, where r u from?

  • Belgium! ^^

  • Dutch part or french part? I'm guessing dutch right?

  • I don't try to be.

  • For those of you who know AkitaTom, I feel another AkitaTom about to happen. (:

  • Kawaii!!! Ur sooooo CUTE!!! ^_^

  • How much did it cost for u to be an exchange student for 1 year?

  • AFS prices change every year in every country. So I suggest you take up contact with your AFS community to ask about prices. Schoolyear 2008-2009 from Belgium to Japan was 6400 Euro. Without any possible scholarships ofcourse.

  • nice video

im an exchange student in southern belgium now (with afs, also)

    i love your country!

  • Ah! You're in the French part of Belgium. ^^ Totually diffrent from the Flemish part though...

  • yah, my friend (hes living up there in the flem part) has told me its extremely beautiful. i got stuck in ratty charleroi, so all i see is chemical plants.

  • Hehe good luck :D

  • Lucky, but it's cool you met other people ^-^.

  • What is lucky? No one is lucky, it's all about motivation!

  • wow you must have had fun. Meet other exchange students?

  • Yeah lots!

  • dude!
