  • This album was underrated. Spooky Tooth made very good albums but this one is fantastic

  • This album blew me away when I was a teenager. I'm not and never have been a Christian, but forty years on I can still appreciate the raw power and intensity. An extraordinary album - many thanks for posting.

Don't suppose anyone could upload Have Mercy and Jubilation, the only two racks not on here?

  • @solomanic1

Stuart Maconie played 'Jubilation' on 'The Freakier Zone' on Friday (3rd Nov.).; if you're quick you can hear it on the 6Music iPlayer. What a strange piece of music!

  • @captainsurfcaster many thanks for alerting me to this - I would never have discovered it otherwise. Great to hear it again

  • my favourite spooky tooth album

  • When a few friends would come by and do a bit of the acid, I would sneak this on the turntable after they were off and freak the hell out of them. You can do the same thing with Pink Floyd when you put on he song just before , Careful with that axe Eugene. God the 60s and early 70s were fun.

  • We hit it off so well after another visit busizz4me.info

  • I'm a Christian and take no offense to this awesome amazing piece..in fact the lyrics are from a Psalm right out of Holy writ...Love Love Love...

  • The Christians really bashed this album as being satanic. I think more for Pierre's editing than anything Spooky Tooth did.

  • too bad ceremony supposedly ruined or destroyed spooky tooth or at least their future as a band. luther's blistering, feverish and frenetic solos on this lp, mike harrison's powerful, soulful, blues- drenched vocals, and mike kellie's steady, yet always imaginative and persistant percussion are superb throughout the entire album. this and have mercy feature some of luther's greatest soloing. another great post, tim. thanks.

  • @gmpeckg I saw Luther twice with Spooky (68-69) and with Mott and Widowmaker, but IMHO he never topped this !

  • I was digging this back in high school, and it was altogether too much!

  • Now that's the album cover I came to love and loath.

    Good times, great experimental rock.

  • luther is one of my all time favorite players , too bad eddie kramer didn't record and mix this.

  • What's Jumpin' Off?! FLASHBACK late 60-early 70's; From the bowels of 1 of the worse ghettoes in America-Camden, NJ across from Philly, Me, known as Psychedelic! The Black Brother. Peace & love turning on many. Sunshine. Mescaline. Mushrooms. Haze. House partying w/ the flashing lights & dancing girls; stereophonic headphones made that ghetto glitter! Remember nights of Spectrum dance concerts, Door's Open in Camden, OG JFK Stadium & it all ended at Camden Co College '75-'78. Holler at me

  • way gone, man.

  • True!

  • Having been since about 1975 when I saw Ariel Bender playing with Mott The Hoople, I forgot how great he played. I remember how it appeared that Ian Hunter was jealous of Ariel. Maybe it was all in the show, but the two of them would kick the other in the ass while they were playing, almost daring the other to drop the riff or the beat. My buddies and I talked about this cat for years after that show. This was on Queen's first tour, they were supposed to open for the Hoople, but had to cancel.

  • Good Grief Grosvenor! Next to 'Evil Woman', this has to be his best recorded performance. Totally off the rails...full of emotion and that wreckless, grab your balls and say 'f*ck it!' battle-cry that was Luther's alone. And the ending? Unreal....

  • pretty good summary I'd say Jon :))

  • Wspaniała płyta.Słucham całej co jakiś czas ale i odwiedzam to miejsce aby posłuchać.

    Pozdrawiam. mirek 5210

  • an amazing song and i was born in 1994

  • Remember listening to this when it first came out and wondering what had the Tooth done. In a strange way it is a grower. Haven't heard it for along while.

  • Thank you very for uploading this song !

I´m surching for the other songs from "Ceremony ".But can`t find anything ,yet.

  • Wish I still had may LP's

  • Great Geetar man and Band...

  • Excellent Tim...I haven't heard this before.

    What a guitarist ! A Spine tingler !

    Thanks...

    Jane.

  • Marvellous guitarist.

    Thanks Tim.

  • I never got into this band either,,I really don't know why, wasn't their first album Spooky Two??

  • believe it or not, that was their second lol. First one was "It's all about". Got some tracks on here :)

  • @kentishbloke It's All About was re-titled Tobacco Road in the U.S.

  • The first album may have been reissued with one or two different songs as "Tobacco Road". I think it was "It's All About" maybe in England and "Tobacco Road" in the U.S. (???) I think. I know the albums have almost identical songs.
