Sandokan,Natty Morgan,General Starkey etc shhhhiiittt when i speak 2 native jamaicans about these brothers, all they can say is that these cats where psychopaths not like these featherweight so called badmen. But you gotta ask yourself what could've been if these brothers would have fought on the right side of the law against they powers that be.
@Amidat makes u kindave wonder about the reason(s) cat has rarely if ever performed in jamaica and for those of u who r wondering about the man they call "Sandokan" (RIP) google his name or getter yet ask any natie born jamaican 30 years old and over about him.
@blackwolverine1 - well you mean since he migrated?? he performed all the time in Jamaica during the 80's. He gave an interview in NY a couple years ago and he talked about everything. Basically he said he doesn't perform in JA anymore because he had a lot of enemies who might still want revenge...and he says at this stage of life he doesn't care for the war anymore.. Think Nitty Gritty incident....the problem at Sting - etc. etc.
@Amidat Hey Amidat where can i find that interview on cat where he said those things? blessed up and keep the dancehall reggae flame alive especially the old school.
@donone10 - it was on the Caribbean Fever show hosted by dhavid levy on 107.5 WBLS... basically he said the incident with nitty wasnt the first time he had to face a situation like that...he said things like that happened b4 in jamaica which is the main reason he left... and that basically he's too old and mature for war now. he even said that when he became friends with Notorious BIG he told him straight "i left jamaica to get away from this - so let's defend money istead of war" (paraphrase)
@Amidat unfortunately biggies gone and cat is still here,i could in a sense over-stand his rare appearances on stage and off (saw him last at madison square garden in 2008 or what is 2009). Cats like him Josey Wales, Ninjaman etc r a throwback to the days where it wasn't a joke being a bad mon, Supercat in that same show i just mentioned put Dahved Levy on the spot about him calling himself a "rudeboy" but "him never seen him squeeze ( trigger) it inna Garrison".
@donone10 - and actually the same show had Mr. Liang on there not too long after.... that was another Big interview... about the origins of Sting along with his life as a police... and why he always is on guard when he travels to NY.
@Amidat Laing (real badmon police), Supercat (real badmon artist) from what i over-stand Laing manages Ninjaman. But that man right there is a legend, if u hear tunes from the late 80's and early 90's his name along with Tony Hewitt, Bigga Ford and Amin where always mentioned. In an interview he stated that many bad mon respected this brother and parlated information to him that no other police officer would never obtain.
@blackwolverine1 - i know some of what you say is definitely true... certain things I won't talk because it wouldn't be appreciated...but I will just say it's a saml world... and yes those ppl you mention are legends in one way or another.
ur going to have to correspond with the person who posted this song on YT or go on Limewire if posssible, old tunes like this are a rarity to find on disc especially with the advent of the whole digital revolution.
@blackwolverine1 DEFINETLY steely and cleavie steely (RIP in september of last year) they created many of classical riddims of all time like the poco, 357 magnum, street sweeper, fast car, etc. big all time.
@Amidat i know man riddims like this one are INMORTAL AND CLASSICS. NUFF SAID. it makes me sad of nowadays riddims. some a are good BUT still the true essence of dancehall riddims is fading and continue fading.
