You are so wrong. Spain played "Our father's God, to Thee", - which should - in my opinion - be our National Anthem.

Part of it's beauty is it's lyrical contrast to the British. Instead of:

"God save our gracious Queen (or King)",

Our's says:

"Our Father's GOD - to Thee _author of Liberty - to THEE.we sing!

.....protect us by Thy might, GREAT GOD OUR KING!

Played for the 1st Lady visiting Spain, it would remind her Who really rules America and it's not her egomaniac husband. Spain chose well.
