i am a harm reduction advocate down here in cebu city, philippines where injecting drug use has become the major cause of the drastic rise of hiv/aids cases. this video was not designed to make viewers enticed to inject drugs nor to deter viewers from experiencing such, but to make the ones who are already consumed with this problem live a healthy life despite their misdeed. harm reduction, perse, is designed to stop sexually transmitted infections to transmit.
A little extra tip... SWIM used to use every- and anything as a tourniquet, before he realized that he was Wearing a couple of them at all times. BRACES (suspenders) make excellent, stretchable, long, washable, readily available, fast to 'fasten', stylish and inconspicuous.
Nobody would assume or guess that you're going to use them as a tourniquet, that you're a drug-user, etc... as would a cut-off bycicle inner-tube, a length of rubber band, and so on.
This vid is both useful and necessary -- it's all in the title : harm reduction!
I wish people would understand that drug users aren't criminals... Those who don't get it don't understand a thing. Those who don't understand that heroin is a symptom, and not a disease -- a disease, and not a crime;

@ rrush2214; yer wrong comprehensive sex ed has been shown time & again to reduce teen pregnancy & STD rates. Lack of education/ abstinence based edu increases teen pregnancy & STD rates
@ ka1rtw this video IS NOT directed at naive users & as you clearly disapprove of drug injection I would hope that you'd want to keep injection drug users out of your treatment facility by keeping them from getting the diseases & infections that make them come in for care; this video is aimed at doing that.
Wow. As an R.N. for over 33 years I find it highly objectionable that anyone would EVER put a video advising IV illegal drug users how to shoot up would be made available. That' just fucking sick. Thank you all you liberal fuckers.
People arent going to want to shoot up by watching this video. Odds are they are going to try it whether or not they know how to do it, so I agree that this video is good to have. A dumb kid that gets hold of a needle off the internet could make the fatal mistake of injecting in a major artery. At least they'll survive with the use of this video!!

This is unreal. I'm slightly disgusted, and completely confused. When did it become okay for us to show not only addicts, but teens, children, tempted users, and everyone who may one day decide to try this how to shoot up? They're trying to show constant users how to use safely, but at the same time they are showing people who would never try this otherwise, increasing the problem at hand.
Oh, please... this video does NOT glamorize IV drug use. If anything, it makes it look far less appealing (it did for me), and I'm sure no one watches these videos and decides, "hey, I never thought about shooting up drugs, but that looks FUN; I'm gonna start now!" Get real.
Videos like this are extremely important because it teaches people ALREADY using IV drugs how to do it more safely.
You remind me of those awful people that don't like sex education or condoms.

It's the people who might try it, but decide not to because they don't know how, but were solving that problem! By the way, when the schools incorporated condom handouts into their sexual education programs, the teen pregnancy rate increased dramatically.
Watching Fox News - where the truth never gets in the way of the story? The facts have been overwhelming documented, again and again, that education results in lower drug use, great reductions in the spread of disease, lower illegal activity, lower incarceration rates, lower rates of unwanted pregnancy, etc. For example, abstinance only teaching has directly resulted in 14% more fetus deaths. When ideology defeats the facts, everone looses.
