Yeah I understand this seemed to take so much work but it was so worth it i'm sure. Thanks for all the advice and I'm just starting to look things up I may do it sometime next year if I get orginized enough by then, anything you could send me via e-mail or anything like that would be fantastic so if you ever have the time I would really appreciate it
Thank you I'm glad you liked it. If you do this part of the trek in France you definitely need maps or some for of navigation as the GR65 in France is often unmarked and challenging to recognize and it cross lots of cities in which the markings simply disappear. Once you get near the Spanish border you need to be blind to get lost as its fully marked and many trekkers on it. In France I walked 800KM without running into another trekker.
To navigate threw France the best book I found (in French)"Le Chemin de Paris et de Tours" by Jean-Yves Gregoire. But honestly I did not see myself walking for 1300km with a book on my hands ans especially not under the rain. So I took this book and transfered all of its turn by turn directions onto my Garmin MapSource software and created all the daily tracks that I later transfered to my Garmin GPSmap 60CSx. This hand held GPS guided me rain or shine for 45 days and I never got lost.
But i needed to prepare these tracks prior to leaving and that took a little more then three weeks of computer work so don't do this at the last minute.....:-)
I still have those tracks on my computer so if you ever decide to make the walk who knows perhaps they can be made available.
