But John is a lyric baritone and Ewan is a Tenor, and so when John sings those high notes, it sounds strained both on the recording and live. I just think this fits Ewan's voice better but to each his own right? :)

@surfer53 He was born in Scotland and moved to America when he was 9-ish so he addopted the american accent cause he was made fun of in school. He has said in interviews that when he's with his parents and talks about them his Scottish accent comes back :)

I think you are right, as Ewen McGregor is a tenor, and Barrowman is a high baritone, and he has some intonation issues and almost cracks on this. Barrowan has better training, of course.

You can't really compare this to the Elton John version. This is based on the Ewan Mcgregor version, it pretty much skips the first two verses and is sung differently. It's good but I prefer the Ewan Mcgregor version. Just my opinion.
