I just love part 2 the most. Nothing scarier than Jason with a bag over his head. When Ginny enters the abandoned shed where Jason keeps the bodies, looks out the window and sees Jason running up to the shed....

Favorite "Jason" movie, i just didnt like the head crunch kill. If they used this Jason character as a template rather than the later versions of some monster like he is in 5, 6, and 7 then a fucking worm in Jason goes to Hell, then a fucking robot in Jason X....it got stupid. The new version of Jason in the remake is awesome.

Part 3 is by far the best friday 13th movie not only because Jason gets the mask, but he's still sort of human, he screams when Cris stabs him in the hand, leg and axes him in the head. Although I like the other movies (except part 5, which I hate), I don't like him being and unstoppable zombie, because it kinda kills the emotion of the movie, knowing that no one can fight him back.

@blueeyedconch that's because Michael is plausible, to a point. There could really be someone like him and what he did could really happen Same with Jason. Getting shot, stabbed and blown up dozens of times...yeah, not scary. But all the other villians...Freddy, Pinhead, Chucky, etc., you know you'll never see a guy walking down the street with hundreds of pins in his face and head, or some guy turn into a snake. It's almost comical. Michael and Jason are truly creepy!

Here is my only issue with the Friday the 13th series are the ever changing face of Jason and the loop holes in the storyline. I understand that there are new writiers and special effects teams (and in the later films another production company) but they were able to put every scar and tear Jason ever had in part VII. But enjoyed them for what they were.

This is my favorite Friday The 13th from the series. The setting was awesome and I loved the man who played Jason. He had such amazing stature and dispostition. Jason Takes Manhattan was the last original in my opinion. I can't bring myself to watch any others made after 1989.

This weekend I plan on watching all 8 of the originals and I will be playing Friday The 13th on my NES. Doesn't get any better than that.

My opinion on each movie. Love the series but I am very strict on my ratings. Part 1 = 8/10 Part 2 = 8/10 Part 3 = 6/10 (Never seen it in 3D,assume it would be better, so 3D version 7/10) Part 4 = 6/10 Part 5 = 3/10 Part 6 = 7/10 Part 7 = 6/10 Part 8 = 5/10 Part 9 = 1/10 Part 10 = 2/10 Freddy vs. Jason = 7/10 2009 Remake = 7/10 (My favorites are 1, 2 and 6)

I don't think the film projectors nowadays would be able to recreate it, unfortunately. There was an old Art theatre in Indy that showed it for Halloween two or three years back and it was amazing. No red-blue nonsense. Real shame, too -- amazing work, technically speaking.
