Thank you. I missed that generation of opera stars. Very few of them left anymore. There were so much talent those days and each one has their own style. Isolated from China for so long, Hong Kong had developed its own Cantonese opera style over the years and it is quite different for those of China today. Next time, take a closer look when and you can always tell if the actor/actress is from China or HK. I hope the younger generation will continue the tradition in HK.

The only way I'm away of typing in Chinese is to either search each character word from word in an online dictionary (which I do to look for poems and operas) or just a software and type in pronunciation keys

Dear Melanie, I can only say thank you and bless you. You have enabled me to go back to the days when I was a young girl staying with my grandma who was their fan. She taught me to appreciate their songs and listening to them again now brings back the happy memories of my time with my granny. Thanks again Melanie

Dear Melanie, thanks so much for spending your time to put this wonderful Yam Kim Fai songs for us. He is the only star I like and I am his royal fans. Too bad I was too young when he performed all those great opera. I really like to watch his real person performing but too late now. I only could watch his student's performing now. I wish I knew how to compress videos to smaller size as each time I can only upload 8 minutes for each clip! But if you can make a trip to HK, I can tell you where you can get plenty of Yam Kim Fai videos!

However, they are in tape format and I need to convert many times in order to upload to computer. 任白演譯固然無得頂, 徒弟亦得其師真傳, 當然加上自己的風格, 始終是另一個人, 但真的很好！多些買票入場, 實實在在的支持好的劇團, 否則往後只能上網回味。

Most of these operas are now lost because they were not filmed. I became a fan, too late. Well, I wasn't even born yet, to attend any operas then.
