Rose is my favorite companion. I miss her so much. I thought by the newest reincarnation I'd be over the whole Doctor/Rose thing...but alas...I still miss them.
But while Rose will always be my favorite companion, I have no problem admitting that she seemed very selfish at times but what is more human than that? Plus you always kind of feel bad for Mickey, he loved her so much and while she did love him, it just wasn't in the right way. In a way the whole triangle with Mickey, Rose and the Doctor is the mirror of the same thing with Amy, Rory and the Doctor now, mirrored because Amy does love Rory in the right way. Even if he does get insecure sometimes

@BrotherTree1 If you google that, there's some commentary where Billie says she doesn't quite know where that lisp came from, but that it was cold and she was wearing a tiny jacket. She does sound a bit hoarse here, actually.
so far, my favorite companion is rose, for reasons that is unexplainable - next is donna noble, the pompei volcano thing episode made me realize she's more than just a talker - i loved the way she pleaded the doctor to save someone from the eruption. as for martha, dont get me wrong, she's the best companion, smart and everything - it's just that the season she's in is just so depressing (storywise) that you just want to forget the entire season! for me at least.
@Erg0 Actually, I feel that way about season four too. Donna is very awesome and fights against it, but not even she can stop the trend. It seems like with Doctor Ten, they kept trying to do whatever they could to stab him in the heart, and it really ruined Tennant for me, because he's so darn emo that it steals a lot of the fun that DW is supposed to have. I hope that the new guy is less emotional and more Doctor-like again.

Donna is far better than any of the other new companions, in my opinion, because she wasn't a silly, starry-eyed, lovestruck kid. She played a companion that wasn't constantly fawning over the Doctor. She challenged him in ways Rose and Martha didn't. I do like Rose and Martha, though, in rather equal amounts. I don't see why everybody loves Rose so much though... she was really immature, and had a mildly irritating manner of speech.
Rose was the companion that change the doctor the most, he was a lonley person filled with hatred when she met him and she made him come back to the doctor we all know and love, I like Donna as well but she and the Doctor were too alike, it was like they were the same person only that Donna was human and The Doctor timelord

That's not necessarily true. During Donna's tenure, the Doctor underwent a transformation in just about every episode. She brought out more of the essential compassion that was lacking in Rose's Doctor. I agree though that Rose was the essential first new companion as, in the state he was as the Ninth, he likely wouldn't have even considered Donna for companionship, being too noisy and irritating. Rose helped the Doctor overcome some of his loneliness but her character was still too abrasive IMO

I, however, think she only acted as any human being would. For me, out of all the companions I have seen for far, Rose seemed the most natural...and the most human.
@legendarymermaid Indeed. I have to say, from the "rebooted" series my favorite companion is hands down Rose Tyler. I went back and for with Donna, possibly because I've never found Catherine Tate's work very funny and have some bias from it. I could not stand Martha Jones I'm afraid, I think the whole thing of her falling for the Doctor so soon after the same vibe with Rose just annoyed me. And I admit I do love Amy Pond, but she will always be second to Rose :)

DT's accent is Scottish. He has an English accent so he seems more versatile, but I loved when he spoke in a Scottish accent in 'Tooth and Claw'!
Billie's voice is way too middle class for Rose. Rose comes from an estate and has had a tough upbringing, so has a more realistic accent. It makes it even better that she gets all these experiences with the Doctor, as life hasn't always been easy for her!
@sqwonk11 The writers weren't mean to Martha. She had to suffer alot with the Doctor because he treated her badly, but in the end she overcame all of that and saved the universe. Martha left to go take care of her family and moved on from the Doctor to go have a happy life. It was a bittersweet ending.
@sqwonk11 The only person we should feel sorry about in that part is the Doctor. He took her for granted, but she's off living a happy life because she realized what was really important. We shouldn't feel to bad about the Doctor not loving her back either since she didn't love him.

I think it's 'cause we really loved Rose and The Doctor together and maybe feel like Martha was trying to replace her and get the Doctor to move on, where as Donna never had feeling like that for the Doctor so we saw her as a good friend of his:)

She thought she was because she liked him and she clung onto that crush on him because it was the first guy she could get close to without her mother interfering(but somehow her mother still managaed that). Martha had alot more to her than just a crush on the Doctor. She was female!Doctor of season 3.
@doctorwho415 People just need to get over that she liked the Doctor. It was a part of Martha's story about how she gave things she wanted for things she needed when she left him to go take care of her family. Instead, you all think it was so Rose could have a rival and that's not the story at all.
I think that what him and rose has is diffrerent, it was like, they were there from the begginning (of the series from now) and I dont know, I think that he made him self a little more vulnrable to her?

The "Turn Left" episode was really great. It had me on the edge of my seat. Can't wait for the next episode!! YAY!!
I also agree that the Doctor loves Sarah Jane and Rose the most... I do hope they will bring back Jenny (the Doctor's daughter) to the show next season. I think Georgia was so great in that episode! And what a cutie!! =D
