I think it would have been good to hear the deportees accept some responsibility for their own actions, rather than ignorance of the law, as well as some effort at education and working legal jobs while in the USA. Many immigrants in many waves have overcome similar hurdles to lead law abiding lives in the USA. I do agree we need to be more compassionate when resettling refugees, and President Obama should continue working on improved immigration reform.

As a survivor of the Killing Field, I immigrated to the States in 1981 when i was 16. I dont' feel sorry for these Gangster wanna-bes. They got what coming for them. I worked in a donut shop, as soon as I got my high school diploma for 10 yrs straight. I didn't turn to gang or no do I blame my parents for my failures. My parents didn't speak English also. i agree 100%, my family came here broke and confused. YES! my mother sewed for a living as we grew up in the hood of LB while taking care of all five of us with no dad. Non of us have criminal records nor did any of us felt like we needed to do criminal actions to make money. I'm talking about us growing up GUTTER eating rice and soy sauce and eggs daily so we can make ends meet. Alot of the nights we only ate what free school lunch gave us. But we're all succesfull now.

I was in the US Army and didn't make enough to survive for the first few years until I made rank to a point I didn't need it. My neighbor, who according to the landlord is suppose to live alone has 9 people living in a two bedroom home. The US is overrun with problem of immigrates, I can not forget the fact that my family were immigrates 150 years ago.

I think it would have been good to hear the deportees accept some responsibility for their own actions, rather than ignorance of the law, as well as some effort at education and working legal jobs while in the USA. Many immigrants in many waves have overcome similar hurdles to lead law abiding lives in the USA. I do agree we need to be more compassionate when resettling refugees, and President Obama should continue working on improved immigration reform.

As a survivor of the Killing Field, I immigrated to the States in 1981 when i was 16. I dont' feel sorry for these Gangster wanna-bes. They got what coming for them. I worked in a donut shop, as soon as I got my high school diploma for 10 yrs straight. I didn't turn to gang or no do I blame my parents for my failures. My parents didn't speak English also. i agree 100%, my family came here broke and confused. YES! my mother sewed for a living as we grew up in the hood of LB while taking care of all five of us with no dad. Non of us have criminal records nor did any of us felt like we needed to do criminal actions to make money. I'm talking about us growing up GUTTER eating rice and soy sauce and eggs daily so we can make ends meet. Alot of the nights we only ate what free school lunch gave us. But we're all succesfull now.

I was in the US Army and didn't make enough to survive for the first few years until I made rank to a point I didn't need it. My neighbor, who according to the landlord is suppose to live alone has 9 people living in a two bedroom home. Let think abt it Deeply ..How many cambodian out there are held an Upper Class job in US? i mean like in Congress, Governor, Laywer...Doctor etc..None...i am living with stepmother in US who's a Khmer's refugee and i gotta admit its awful to deal wit her since i'm a school student..Education is Important and Genetic Superior is Everything.

They got all the blessing of coming to the US and have all the benefit of becoming success. Yet they chose to get involve in the criminal life.There's all kind of things that can one can blame of how they turnout like that. But in the end it was their choice that got themself there. FYI I am was also a refugee from Cambodia.

You're absolutely, right...but the American govt is also unfair to these guys. They're already serving their time in the States. Why still deported them? To me this is considered discrimination agaisnt these Cambodian kids. What about other nationalities in America...like Chinese, Vietnamese, Korean, Japanese, Filipinos, and ect...! Why aren't they deported? I'm talking about the criminals with green cards.

US don't want criminals in their backyards anymore. My only problem is that if you commit a misdemeanor twice, you can be deported. So for a minor crime, they'll send you back, which I think is unfair. This happens to everyone, chinese, vietnamese, irish...etc w/ green cards.

duch is a murderous bastard. the vietanmese only had the worst intentions for cambodia. the french can't be trusted, they are the worst of the colonial powers, giving huge amounts of land of cambodia to vietnam. anyways, lon nol was probaly the best hope for cambodia, the us did what they could for him, but left alone, the khmer rouge would have still taken cambodia and killed all those people just as vietnam wanted. at least the us tried to help lon nol rather than just let the khmer rouge "die

I believe these type of laws are racist. Some people that are born in america commit worse crimes than this. They don't get deported anywhere. I'm not saying we should support them, just that I don't believe that we should deport them, I think bush made a horrible decison. Most people that get deported have families and kids, and they would have to leave that all behind.

They did this to themselves, yeah I'll take their excuse for not knowing the difference between a greencard and citizenship. They should also know NOT to commit crimes. If they were diagnose with something then I'll understand. This is no excuse really, I grew up poor, I walked in there shoes and probably fought the same Mexicans they did. I turned out alright.
